The 1960 discovery conclusively proved the pre-Columbian Norse colonization of the Americas. L'Anse aux Meadows may correspond to the camp
Straumfjörð mentioned in the Saga of Erik the Red.
A Viking settlement was discovered by Helge and Anne Stine Ingstad at that exact spot, L'Anse aux Meadows in northern Newfoundland, and excavated
during the 1960s and 1970s.
It is most likely this was the main settlement of the sagas, a "gateway" for the Norse Greenlanders to the rich lands farther south.

Lucky Viking who discovered
Vinland and settle down in Canada
We are not certain where exactly was located their south most Colony in the continent, but most archaeologists and Historians agree that the so called
Vinland was in the east coast of America.
That suggest that the Plymouth Thanks Giving of 1620 could be not even the Fourth in USA but the 5th at best and the 6th or 7th in North America.

Different Sites have been mentioned as possible locations for Vinland, including the coast of Maine, or Boston and New York Bays. There is a common
agreement that the Norse Colony couldn't prosper beyond the XI century though.
Nevertheless, when William Penn came into the low Delaware river, he noticed that Indians informed to have interacted with other Europeans longely.
He reported to have found that Swedish were already settled down in South Jersey , Delaware and surroundings of Philadelphia before his expedition.
There is the possibility that Swedish Colony evolved from the original Leif Erikson village, that what it was at the XVII called New Sweden was
nothing else than Vinland.
Pls check
Christianization of the Vikings before they came to North
America
Denmark was Christianized in the 10th century. In the late 10th century, King Olaf Tryggvason gave his vassals the choice of Christianity or death.
Olaf also christianized Shetland, Orkney, and the Faeroes, and he was instrumental in the conversion of Iceland.
According to Erik the Red’s Saga, he commissioned Leif Eriksson to christianize Greenland.
Pls check
Thor Heyerdahl found in Vatican Archives
eldest records of Vikings in Vinland as Catholic Norwegian missioners in America
Christianity developed in Sweden but the process took longer, and was not completed until the 12th century.
