Just one more banana peel for President Trump

While bringing solace to the people of Paradise California after the terrible fires burned down the whole town killing an as yet unknown number of people, President Trump managed to express his deep sorrow after the tragedy by calling the burned out town ''Pleasure' instead of Paradise. The governor and governor elect standing next to him let it slide until he said it again at which point the governor elect corrected him.

Trump is just the president. He is not our father, our sibling, or our grandfather. He is not living next door, if he was I would probably not care for it. Why do people get so upset over Trump, he is just another deceiver in DC, probably one of a hundred thousand of the worlds best deceivers in that area.

I kind of feel sorry for his family having to put up with his big head. He is just the president, most presidents are jerks, others are just better at hiding it.

it was not just a wrong word. It was the name of the town that he had come to visitl. It was the name of the town that burned to the ground. It was that name of the town that trump was visiting to show respect. That was what he could not remember. Not just a word.

It was the entire focus of his visit.
This, rather than being seen as just a word by some, is seen by others as one more demonstration of Trumps detachment from the situations that surround him.

My point is that ATS, and the majority of its members, are barely worth engaging with anymore. I only visit once in a blue moon, because the site has deteriorated to such an extent, that it isn't often worth taking the time of day to look at, let alone contribute.

I am not pissed off about the herd mentality here. It is more puzzling if anything. I don't understand how people can jerk each other off so much that they actually enjoy it. This website used to have a diverse range of opinions and contributors. Since 2016, that has decreased. It doesn't piss me off, but it is disappointing.

I was a lurker here for, hell, 5 or 6 years, before I joined in '13, and yes, it was a different place.

10 years ago, ATS was THE PLACE. If you wanted serious sh*t, and major info, ATS was the pinnacle. We all came here for whatever obsession was driving us. Mine, and probably a BIG majority, was UFO stuff.

ATS was a GOLD MINE to me back then for the UFO stuff, but whatever your pleasure, this was the place you came FIRST.

That being said, and I think you would probably agree with me on this, ATS didn't change.

Deflection and licking the tears off "liberals" faces is the favorite pastime of 15 or so people frequenting this site. I suspect they feel powerless and feel some form of tangential power when clutching the trumpster's cape.

Most of the more canny people gathering here just ignore them and their simplistic, embarrassing worship of their "strong" strawman. What else to do? It's astounding that on a site dedicated to exposing hidden power, corruption and conspiracy, a cult can thrive around a figure embodying all that is bad in governance.

Meh, maybe he'll stay stupidly ineffectual and not kill as many people with drone strikes as Clinton was likely going to do, and there's also the hopeful notion that we'll all die due to inaction over climate disaster and political crowing will then be a moot last echo of failed human potential.
