Still probably one of the greatest movies ever made but seriously dated
That ominous music
"Rarely have six basses, eight celli, four trombones and a tuba held more power over listeners."
Outside of a fin cutting through the water
Horror because it was believable
Definitely a great movie. First time I saw it I was at my friends house who owned cats, and while walking through the dark hallway to use the
restroom, his cat jumped off a dresser from one of the bedrooms and scared the crap out of me. lol
Congo is another great movie. It's cheesy, but the good kind of cheese.
How can you leave out Tippi Hedron's "Roar"? They actually had to breed all the cats for it and had accidents galore. They made an entire African
Village on their property that is now a sanctuary for big cats called Shambala.
ETA: here's a 2 min Nat Geo short on it. Fun fact (to me) my mom's best friend dated John Marshall and I was at the ranch as a kid a LOT playing with
Tiger, Lion and leopard cubs! I could never go into the main compound because the cats got too wound up around kids (prey). Robbie the Lion was shot
when he escaped during a huge flood in the 80s I think it was really sad because he was very mellow and sweet.
Then they had a Leopard named Buster who to this day is one of my favorite animals. We used to take him for car rides (Vet etc) and he'd sit in the
front passenger seat (no cage he was totally sweet, never hurt anyone in his entire life and only adult cat I could play with) and on the freeway or
wherever we'd be and the looks we got were hysterical when people noticed an adult leopard staring at them from the front seat of the van lol.
That movie is considered one of if not THE most dangerous ever made, so many people got hurt it's crazy.

It's why I think movies like The Meg, and the Pirahna remake succeeded (for what they were intended to be). They both had a pretty plausible backstory
for why these creatures existed. In addition, they focused on a few characters, and actually fleshed them out a bit.
Pirahna, you have the single mom LEO, the son who feel trapped with taking care of his sis, the girl who of course disobeys, and gets close to the
water, the love interest who is a small town girl who wants to live a little...etc. And of course, Ving Rhames as....well, Ving Rhames.
The Meg did likewise, with the intrepid by reluctant hero, the CEO dad's daughter who is out to make a name for herself, Ruby Rose's beauty and brains
character, the requisite little girl who stumbles into trouble.
While a bit formulaic, it's a good formula, and both of these executed it well. Of course, it also has the creature feeding frenzy scenes too, which
are fantastic.
For the ones I mentioned, adding trailers (already had Pirahna, above)...
