We want a small hobby farm, to start. In search of these ends, we would have to sell our home in the city, which we are more than willing to do.
However, not without finding what we want first. Have to justify the means!
Was perusing Zillow a few days ago and found a farm. From the looks of it, the owners are/were having trouble keeping up with it. It is a civil war
era home with some fairly rich history out in the boonies not far from a sleepy old town. A few outbuildings including barns. Well I went into
research mode on the place. Spend a good few hours delving into it. Photos, landscapes, surroundings and how far necessities were. I kept going back
to the photos. So much history and I found myself absolutely enthralled.
Fast forward to around 5am. I'm out of work and trying to wind down. The wife comes down stairs which is very odd for this time of day. She's in
tears and spooked. Anxiety racing. She begins to tell me of this dream she had.
We (her, our son and myself) all arrive at this castle that I supposedly owned. I go tend to some matter and her and the boy go off for a walk. She
loses her bearings and can't find her way back. Through all these rooms, some under construction, some with people from seemingly a different era
(50s/60's as I would surmise from her description). Some things broken, more things new. There are people in these rooms and she asks where I'm at
or states that she is looking for me. The all tell her the same thing with a friendly smile, "he's around front."
When I asked her why she was so clearly upset she said because some of the people she ran into were dead. Some she was estranged from. Some she just
hadn't seen in years.
I calm her down and take my nap and she goes on about her day. When I wake she fills in some gaps and is feeling much better. It is then I show her
the home I was looking at. Her jaw hit the floor. There were key things that she really noticed. Different fencing, the build of the barns, the
firepit. An aerial photograph. She was just awestruck. It was (I don't wanna use the term exactly) VERY close to what she had dreamed.
So, what do you guys think? Odd coincidence? Something else?
