What made you join ATS?

So I was a lurker for some time, can't remember to be honest, I don't have any context of events before the one that got me to join.

It was back in 2015 after Russia invaded Crimea, that to me didn't particularly stand out or surprise me much, it was what happened after.

I remember no one had an explanation for what was going on, though there seemed to be rumors floating around that suggested there may have been a huge power struggle.

So I finally decided to join so I could ask people particular questions, and from there I decided to stay.

Anyone else have a particular world story or conspiracy theory that brought you here?

My bank gets all weird when I try and do amounts over 5,000 usd.... Always happens around elections, such a pain.

I can think of several outstanding threads, and even just specific comments that sent me on rabbit holes.

I remember one, I think it was a comment. I don't typically gravitate towards conspiracies, and don't buy into most, but still have the capacity to know when something is fishy.

Anyways, someone made a troll thread, basically saying if you buy into any you're an idiot. And a mod put up a list of conspiracies on ATS that turned out to be true after they were posted.

The most interesting was the military plane that was transporting nukes across the country and somehow managed to lose them.

This is why it pays to look for several employers instead of just picking the first one that extends a hand.

Sounds like your bonuses probably include some good bourbon, maybe even Pappy.

We get vodka, life can be rough.

I joined initially for the Fortean type conspiracies, moon landings, ancient civilisations, aliens that sort of stuff.

Found the site one day while googling th negative blood and lurked for years before signing up.

The sites changed a lot but to be fair people were saying that when I first joined haha

There’s less Fortean type content now and I guess that’s down to the fact that most of it has been done to death.
The sites evolved and while people complain about wanting the good old ATS back without its emphasis on politics I reckon this is the ideal place to discuss it.
Regardless of what side of the fence you sit on or even if you’re sitting on the fence itself or even in a completely different yard, I think we can all agree that what’s going on is the biggest conspiracy of the modern era

A momentary lack of judgement.

I had been stalking for years. Mostly looking for news not in the mainstream. This site unlike many others is user content and allows direct feedback on threads.

Post a fraudulent or just plain stupid topic and you get called out. I like that.

Or maybe it was a brain tumor...

Definitely one of the things that has kept me around.

I constantly find that the news will deliberately frame things to highlight a certain narrative.

Many time's members, from every school of thought will purposefully run with it and add to it. Sometimes I get bamboozled, but usually by page 2 of a thread there is someone that just says "hold my beer" and takes care of it real quick.

Because I got banned from "GodLikeProductions".

In all reality, sometimes I can't distinguish the comments here, and that of a porn site.

I guess you can find genius everywhere, just gotta know how to look .... and in the latter's case, scroll down.

I originally came because I had heard about ATS on Art Bell's Coast to Coast AM, so when I finally got online, it was one of the first sites I knew about and I checked out.... And stayed!

Much like C2C, it ain't what it used to be. But my disappointment lies in the level of discussion, not so much the subject matter.

I miss Art Bell, he was a great. Whether or not you took what he said with a grain of salt, he was a curious and kind mind.

I'm with you on the latter though. Subject matter hasn't disappointed me as much as deterioration of content of discussion.

That said, there are still enough members and comments to keep me intrigued.
