The victories give Democrats a two-thirds advantage in the 40-member Senate. The party also has that advantage in the 80-seat Assembly. The party also holds every statewide office, led by Gov.-elect Gavin Newsom. Two-thirds majorities allow Democrats to raise taxes, suspend legislative rules and override vetoes without Republican votes.
During that 12-month period, California saw a net loss of just over 138,000 people, while Texas had a net increase of more than 79,000 people. Arizona gained more than 63,000 residents, and Nevada gained more than 38,000.

That is probably considered a great victory for "democracy" on the part of the Democrats. They have succeeded in creating a one party state and from that there is probably no return.
Better yet, as we all have seen over the last 50 years, as goes California, so surely goes the rest of the US. Your future is tyranny of a majority, basically a one party bannana republic.

the voting population in cali actually asked for MORE democrats after what's been happening there?
Holy cow.
I wondered about that, though. Yes, housing is much more affordable, taxes are somewhat lower 1 and the roads are marginally less clogged in Texas than in California. Also, the Texas economy has undeniably been booming, creating 3 million new jobs since 2000, compared with 2.7 million in much more populous California.
