According to the DOJ, Rosenstein is no longer overseeing the Mueller probe.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is no longer overseeing special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian election meddling — following the resignation of Jeff Sessions.

The investigation was being managed by Rosenstein because Sessions had recused himself.

With Sessions gone, Rosenstein will no longer oversee the probe — instead, it’ll be run by acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker, NBC News reported.

This situation is developing.

Expect Rosenstein to be gone soon. Possibly even by the end of the day. The fact that he isn't being made the acting AG tells you he's done.

As I predicted last night. Let the dems cry and bitch. They were going to do it anyway.

Edit: Muller should be next to fall.

posted on Nov, 7 2018 @ 07:51 AM link edit quote reply Trump is going to be inundated with democratic investigation, subpoena, and accusation now so he may as well go ahead and fire Sessions and Rosenstein now. Now is the time for Trump to cut loose with both barrels. Edit: He needs to go ahead and Fire Muller to.

Absolutely scandalous.

When you want to anticipate what this administration will do next, just think, "What would the mafia do?"

According to the FOX news, on-site legal expert Judge Napolitano, Trump is again nearing obstruction of Justice with this act since the acting AG has clearly stated a negative opinion on the Mueller probe.

This is a bad move...Trump is likely going to crack-up under pressure.

Exactly as it should be.
Rosenstein only had the reigns as Sessions recused himself from everything except breathing.
Now the top man has the task of overseeing the SC and can reign in Mueller and keep him focused on the job he was appointed to do - or better still end the SC as it was illegally set up.

Is 'nearing obstruction of justice' a thing now? Just wondering as it seems like a downgrade from the previous claims of actual obstruction of justice.

Getting conflicting information now from a source who is usually spot on. I'm honestly not sure who is in charge of what.

Mueller is not fussed. DAG Rosenstein isn’t fussed. There is nothing Trump can do.

He’s already indicted on at least three counts. One is RICO. A minimum of two are for a separate offense (sources used the plural, ‘counts’ without giving me a number).

If that was the case Junior, many would already have been six feet under.

Exactly - Rosenstein had pretty much seized control of the DoJ.
Glad he's lost his power.
Great move to get rid of Sessions instead of Rosenstein - smart.

With the vulnerability of Don Jr, Trump may quit listening to those surrounding him who counsel moderation and just go whole hog with his fantasies of power.

So when Obama’s doj Lynch pressured people to hurry along the Hillary investigation, and fbi members jokes they knew there is possible way she would ever indict Hillary, and she met the he targets husband on a tarmac and didn’t refuse herself, was that obstruction?

Somehow that was cool, but an ag skeptical of muellers witch hunt, which was supposed to be about Russia but morphed into raiding lawyers for decades old financial info is obstruction?

If the new ag shuts down mueller, then we can talk

But at this point, people are saying obstruction and nothing has been done
