Imagine never knowing...imgaine that

One day you wake up, in some strange place, a hotel maybe. There's someplace to go, but you're unsure where.

The days and weeks in your mind are a collision of moments. Some might consider it "vacation" if it was just another day. However, this is no vacation...this is your life. This is where you live now, and this how life is.

And when the sun is up, everything is happy, but when the sun goes down...not so much.

You're 12,000 miles away from anything you know, half way across the world. You will either survive, or you won't. You can "win", or you can exist. But you can't "win". You're an outsider. You will never win.

And so you grow. Grow within yourself if nothing else. Sometimes you're scared, and alone. Walking into the darkness.

But there is purpose, bigger than you...a goal. And so you go. Come what may.

It cost so much. It truly did.

You couldn't jump on an airplane and go home, no, it would take a day or two.

It makes a different person. You become different, you grow.

It sorts out relationships, and sometimes you lose. I did. In retrospect, I'm not sure that was a bad thing, but it is what it is.

And so you go.

You find out what is truly important in your life, and who is truly important...and who believes YOU are important.

It's a test, and it's NOT easy. Sometimes it hurts even, hurts your heart.

At the end of the day you're a better person for it all. And, I guess that's the most important thing of all.
