Why would it be bad news for Christians? And why would that be funny? It's a personal decision everyone makes as to what religion they choose. Isn't this about her well being?

She's disillusioned and crestfallen with Christianity, no doubt, but I'm surprised at her decision to convert to another mainstream religion, especially Islam. I mean, if Jesus didn't do it for her, I can't imagine that Muhammad would. I would have expected something more akin to the Bahia.

Well said. I feel sorry for her because she's clearly chasing some kind of spiritual fulfilment and I don't think she's going to find it in Islam or any other religion. I'd say 'poor kid' if she wasn't years older than me lol. For some reason, it's like she's still the fragile kid in her early 20s. Mental health is a bitch yo.

26 years ago Sinead was exposing the lie.

I used to think she was a very good looking woman but her face is now well lived in and showing a lot of hardship.
She has had a hard life and i hope she finds some relief with her new choice but i always thought she would have turned her back on religion.

But. The one song she had was such a massive hit, and so extraordinary we've never forgotten it. It still gives me goosebumps it's so beautiful. And yes, Prince wrote it.

I have to wonder why because it's more restrictive than Catholicism and more barbaric (Some sectors are anyway).

Does she say why?

She claimed that she left being Catholic because of all the accusations regarding child sex abuses but in some cases this also goes on in the Islamic faith as I've read in the media, so what exactly is she doing it for?

She just told why.

Sorry but Catholic priest abuses of children and the cover ups involved has no comparisons.

Her beliefs obviously revolved around Abrahamic religious beliefs hence choosing another religion that shares the same beliefs about a 1 God.

Madrassas allegedly ‘infested’ with sexual abuse of minors

Sexual abuse in Pakistan’s madrassas is as common as discussing it is taboo, says an Associated Press (AP) investigation....

The past decade has seen hundreds of cases of clerics sexually abusing children reported in the media, with 359 cases written about in the press. This number is “barely the tip of the iceberg”, according to Munizae Bano, executive director of Sahil, an organisation that works towards eradicating sexual abuse of minors and tallies cases of abuse in the media.

The madrassa system reaches at least two million children and is ‘infested’ with sexual abuse according to a senior official at a ministry tasked with registering cases of such abuse.

The official went on to compare the nature of abuse with that of the Catholic Church. “There are thousands of incidences of sexual abuse in the madrassas,” he says. “This thing is very common, that this is happening.” He wished to maintain anonymity due to the threat of physical violence by militant organisations. His position on militant groups has already led to him being targeted by suicide bombers.
