UFC can cut people. they have before.
why not trade?

he is under contract with them.

maybe they say get cut and dont fight or run your last however many out at ONEfc?

none of us know how the contracts are worded.

but he probably is not too torn about it. Matt Hume is like president of operations. im sure DJ will be treated right over there. plus he is as high level as it gets so he will for sure be a champion in ONEfc as well.

the lighter weight classes just dont seem to do it for most fans in the states. ONE is much bigger over seas and those lighter guys are much more popular.

under 155 and most fans start to lose interest. i love the lighter guys.

Because the UFC cutting him doesn't equal him signing to onefc. So he must be on board.

my point was we dont know what the contract stipulations are so it is possible it is a situation like take the cut or go to ONE.

not saying he is going to walk on and become champ especially with his age and time off but the dude is a sick wrestler man.

i would love to see him against Khabib cause from a wrestling stand point i can not think of anyone else with the same high level skills as Khabib. when it comes to wrestling i mean.

yes GSP is more well rounded but nobody that has fought in the UFC has the skills as far as wrestling goes as Khabib does. Askren would bring that.

Ed Ruth fights at 170 and he is a training partner of Khabib and of course not a UFC guy but if they could meet at 165 that would be interesting as # too.

i just want to see someone bring that high level wrestling to Khabib.

which is also why i want to see him vs Tony. Tony is legit off his back man. attacks from the bottom. Khabib puts people on their back.

striking has quite a ways to go but his jiu jitsu is far beyond what other people are bringing.

I think it is going to happen. Part of why the trade happened. Get the 165 built.
Lots of fighters are in support of it.

Dana said it won't happen but Dana says all kinds of #.

Remember since UFC was sold it's more business than best fights.

Luke Thomas made a lot of sense with that. It's always been business but Lorenzo was a fight fan first. New owners? Not so sure.

Apparently the biggest consumer these days is the casual fan. They don't necessarily want the best fights. Ppv is not doing well save for Conor and Brock. Looking like the move might go to streaming services.

This is all just chatter from people like Luke and Ariel.

I think 165 is going to happen soon.

I would like a 165 and 170 changed to 175 but I just don't see it happening.

And ppv never did well outside a few stars. They are making record profits.

Hadn't seen anything of Askren, watched the highlights that I could find on YT.

I think he's going to be an interesting addition to the UFC.
