Khabib clipped Connor on the chin...he can strike...but I also watched GSP get clipped by Matt Serra and Khabib is certainly...lol...no GSP...
why do you think GSP is so far beyond Khabib?
I believe its all about risk....its all about pride and its all about drive...what drives a fighter....Khabiby is a Muslimmaniac obviously....to be
frank I don't care to hear about religion in fighting not any religion.....I think Khabib is fighting for the Muslim Nation and that is his
driver....I think his pride stems from there not from his inner Khabiby…..I think the levels of risk he takes are commensurate with his fighting for
his faith more than himself or the sport...…
I believe GSP is driven by an inner urge to perfect his game to perfect his sport to send a personal message about who and what he is....I don't see
GSP clinging to one dimension of the sport I see him stretching himself and being multi-dimensional....I think GSP fights for his Father to make him
proud his pride stems from there IMHO....I think the types of risks GSP takes reflect his wish to always empty the tank and to always focus on giving
all that he can in all the right places.
I just don't see Khabib being willing to take the same type of risks at the same times in fights as other Athletes and for this I feel he is very
lacking and one-dimensional.He mumbles and jumbles and yaks to himself.....lol...GSP is a submission expert....he is elite....Khabib is not near elite
he is very good that is it....to my eye Khabiby is a survivor in the ring on the ground and his sole mission is to ride it out....low risk ...get on
top...ride it out...no sacrificing top position to show an all round MMA skillset....just win using the single tool available....the slow agonising
ground game....the guy is not a ground and pound specialist and he is not a submission specialist...he is a hip-rider who finds your center of gravity
and then simply refuses to give it up...but he doesn't really do anything worth writing home about while he is in the saddle.....I am just used to
olde school MMA where as soon as it hits the ground someone is being punished mercilessly....well....lol...those fights END NOW....and Khabib he isn't
in that league he is not any kind of monster....he is a bareback bronc rider who looks for the 8 second buzzer.
Khabib will walk you down the garden path if you allow him to but GSP he will walk you Uptown Downtown and to Funkytown if he needs to....GSP is
better at takedowns than Khabib and he looks for them maybe even more than Khabib does....GSP will HUNT Khabib looking to get him on the
ground...even if he doesn't want to keep him there...he will put him there over and over and IMHO this alone is enough that I think it might be a
boring fight...GSP out striking Khabib and GSP controlling the takedowns LOOKING for them as much or more than Khabib...and once Khabibys ground game
is checkmated....really what does he have left.....even to my eye Khabibs submissions are very basic and not built into a bigger gameplan...he just
rolls with it.....he rides first then plans as he goes...I am afraid all fighters don't manage themselves this way and it is what seperates GSP from
many many MMA fighters...GSP HAS A PLAN ALL THE TIME....and when it doesn't work he does not abandon it he finds another way to make it fit
you...because he is multi-dimensional.
I mean IMHO Khabib doesn't even make it past Matt Huges to get to face GSP....lol....but I will always be attatched to the olde school UFC...and of
course the really traditional MMA we all love so much.
That's why I don't like Khabiby….he doesn't try to grow his skillset...he is expert at one dimension one style and he holds to it....good on
him...boring for me.But I will not forget him tagging Connor and stepping him back although like I said I watched Serra execute the Punchers chance
perfectly...and yes it was fun to see Serra show us that side of the Sport....I prefer the technicians who bring a full toolbox to work with them and
who use it.
That said...Khabiby is the main man right now and is in the drivers seat...lets see where he takes us all....I hope it is exciting.
