I have recently read here and elsewhere and seen a few videos regarding the conglomerate social media(s) banning accounts and videos across the board. I understand the Big media is saying its about terms of service but who knows really. It seems everyone is asking and talking about the various bans and the accounts that they are most concerned about but is anyone discussing where the banned accounts are going? For instance, I know Alex Jones still posts videos on his own website infowars but what about the others? Is there another video site like youtube that I can still watch my prepper porn at if they get banned from youtube as well?

Also if google is so corrupt in their filtering of what they want you to be able to search, what is a better search engine to use? I don't use facebook and twitter or things like that anymore but I haven't seen other options for them yet either. Maybe Im just too far under my rock?

In other words, with giant media now banning and censoring so much of our daily news, videos, social media etc, where do we all go?

I should probably add that I am not judging nor taking sides in this media ban stuff, only asking what our other options are if soo much is banned/edited.

Thank you for your time.

I find duckduckgo is the best search engine. As for video, there're sites like Dailymotion and Vimeo, but nothing really compares to the user base of YouTube. Facebook and twitter are worthless either way in my book so I don't want an alternative for those. I still do things like phonecalls and visits. Retro, I know. Startpage is a decent search engine privacy wise but it's powered by Google.

You can say what you want, you can post what you want, nobody is banning you. Your comment is still there. Thats freedom of speech. Ask the people in North-Corea about freedom of speech, or ask some chinese folks. If youtube were mine, i would give a # about wining hate spreading arseholes because i make the rules.

I use DuckDuckGo for my search engine and Real.Video for all the YouTube banned channels. Real.Video gets almost all of the people that get banned for having non-liberal content.

I'm learning so much about alternative video sites. Nice replies. Nice thread. Flagging to check this stuff out when I'm able to watch videos.

I think it is a problem myself. It seems like there is too much room for error and Facebook doesn't communicate with the page owners. I think a lot of pages are violating the ToS, and that's why they are being taken down. Although I've heard that having a conservative viewpoint violates the ToS in a lot of cases. This is due to conservatives these days engaging in a lot of hate speech as well as factually incorrect information, but also due to liberals finding conservative views offensive in general. I have a friend who has had posts removed from his personal account due to censorship.

There needs to be some kind of alternative social network set up with fewer rules, like a sketchy part of town where people can be free to do whatever.

You can build it.

You can go to 4chan.

No ones made anything quality yet because those 5 people complaining about being censored because they can't follow TOS arent worth the effort.
