Because for about 12 years they were told that coming to America is nothing more than an extension of their own country. News doesn't travel fast to those toilet countries, but it does get there eventually. They think this country is theirs now, and don't realize that most Americans have gotten sick of their illegal presence. I'm sure they did this in parts of big cities in California in the 80's and 90's, but most illegals that came here, came here for the real American dream and would learn our language and assimilate. Now they hate us and want to make our country theirs, and why shouldn't they think like that, the loud mouths in the media are too ignorant and scared to call out the problems this causes.

Someone is conjuring these people and rooting them on. Thousands of people don't just one day wake up and decide to go invade another country.

Terrible analogy. The flag of the Confederate States of America doesn't represent a #hole country.

Forced or Seeking pick one.

Americans stay and fight we don't flee

Yeah history disagrees....

Anyway this whole thread basically sounds like how dare anyone be proud of being anything other than American.

When did Americans run from a fight?

This is more like, if you hate your country enough to illegally enter ours, how dare you wave the flag of the country you hate, in our country. Take a vacation to a southern TX or CA town, or Miami, FL and then tell us how you feel all the way over there in GB.

Midterms are around the corner, democrats grow more desperate by the day, and they know they can bus these illegals into cities that don't have voter ID laws and get a better shot at winning. If this country was so bad that I had to leave it, I would be too ashamed of it to wave its flag in the country I left it for. It's like breaking up with your GF because she's a piece of crap and then bragging about her to everyone.

It's not the Dem's I see working insanely and losing their # leading up to the election.

As to the topic what's wrong with flying the flag of your home nation. I see multitudes here and I kinda like the colorful display. Worlds Cup time is sparkly.

Pretty sure you basically ran away from Viet Nam.

Also a few other cases that could be made from running away or turning a blind eye to other conflict area's.

Well, it's a no brainer -- poor political conditions of a country don't detract from heritage or culture. Also, for the idiots posting in the thread about the Puerto Ricans and their flag, they're Americans, people. It's an American territory. Your point is moot. Who are you going to bitch about next, Guamanians & their flag?

My husband's from Germany, he was born and raised there. His American mom settled there when his American dad knocked her up and she didn't want to keep picking up and following his stations. He lived there until he was a teenager before they decided to move back to the US after his dad retired from the military.
As an adult, my hubs also went into the military. I think he earned the right to fly the flag of the country he grew up in wherever he pleases. It's his origin, for god's sake.

For a country that is willingly Irish & boasts that pride even if they're of Greek descent and flies that flag for a half-baked holiday every year, it's mind-boggling some people just don't get it.

I think that's a brilliant analogy. They left their country because they had no opportunity due to a corrupt government, crime and most of all violence. So they fight to get to America that's got a corrupt government(look at the debacle with Kav. missing trillions etc. etc.),crime and most of all violence.

I’ve never understood this... where I live I see Puerto Rican flags... Mexican flags... Dominican flags... but rarely any American ones... yet I live in the United States... if you’re so damn proud of the 💩hole country you came from then go back there instead of sucking up “free” everything here while turning our country into a third world nation...

Puerto Rico is part of the USA!

Dam those US citizens! Coming to the USA and taking US jobs and practicing US feedumbs!

The USA should send those dammed US citizens back to the #hole they came from!

Derp

Way to over simplify the situation... technically speaking they’re “dual citizens” and I agree... we should send them back if they’re going to come here and wave the flag of their “beautiful country” while continually making this one worse...

There is absolutely zero benefit to the nation as a whole to continue to have Puerto Rico as a “territory”... time to end it all and let them see how long it takes to make Haiti look like a tropical paradise...

Eh, he has a point -- it IS stupid. Here in W MI, there's a huge portion of the population with family origins in Holland, Germany, Belgium and Poland. The majority flaunters are Dutch and German, and I see A LOT of those flags plastered on cars sans a US flag, or flying in a yard, sans a US flag. Let me put it this way -- I grew up in Florida. I never saw anywhere near the amount of flags of Central/South American or Caribbean counties in 25 years as I have European ones in the four years I've lived in Michigan. They do love their heritages down there, but they don't hold a candle to the ancestry-obsessed folks here in W MI.

Those heritages are taken very seriously here. Dutch in particular to the point where I've heard several times since moving here an old established saying, "If you ain't Dutch, you ain't much." These are descendants of people who came here generations ago, the heritage and cultural roots still mean a substantial bit. And the OP is bitching about Central/South Americans? Why aren't they allowed to be as proud as the Michigan Dutch are?

Because anyone w a thimble full of sense knows there's a difference between being proud of your HERITAGE and flag waiving for a country that's made you leave due to their own issues....

I mean if you guys are so pro the flag waiving..... Why are the same people wanting to make the confederate flag illegal, or removing the pledge in our own country????

The hypocrisy would be amusing if it wasn't so tragic and ignorant

I never labeled a flag.

As a libertarian I do think a pledge is the anatehma of "freedom".

And I see no issue in flying the Puerto rican flag anymore than flying the New york state flag or Hawaian flag as they are ALL US FLAGS.
