No, I'm serious. It actually is.

Donna Shalala figured out how to trigger it.

It turns out that if you run in a district full of Hispanics who are either from Cuba or recently fled from Venezuela, it's not a good look to turn up campaigning with someone who's all in on the praise for both Castro and Maduro.

There’s a simple rule in running for Congress in Miami: Don’t campaign with someone who praised Fidel Castro and fought sanctions against Venezuela’s dictatorial regime ...
In addition to Cuban exiles, the district also has Venezuelans who despise dictator Nicolas Maduro’s regime and immigrants from Nicaragua, many of whom oppose socialist Daniel Ortega.

Guess what Shalala just did?

In a district filled with Castro-hating Cuban-Americans and Venezuelan exiles, Shalala’s campaign committed an egregious gaffe -- and set off a round of Democratic finger-pointing -- by posting an announcement that she would hold a campaign event Wednesday with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and her fellow Californian, Rep. Barbara Lee.

In 2016, Lee had said Castro’s death should be mourned.

Oops! Lee has also praised the Venezuela style of socialism over the years too.

Shalala was already having issues against her Republican challenger who is a local girl in *every* way, but this just isn't going to help her out.

And the angry mob did materialize.

Link to video of angry mob beating on doors!

Here's a screen cap of that Twit the video is embedded in. The video is underneath. The locals were not amused and started calling Shalala and Pelosi "Witch" and "Commie" and surrounded the office beating on doors and waving signs. So I would say this is as close to an angry Republican mob as we've seen so far this cycle. Democrats should learn not to assume that all members of an ethnic block think or feel a certain way because ... Hispanic ... or black ... or woman ... etc. And this is what happens when they assume.

TEA Party rallies were a lot larger. I was at a congressman's event or office a time or two, but there was no beating on doors or anything. Just shouting at passing cars and sign waving.

That video in the Twit was crazy!

There are some tired lines that come to mind, but these guys usually work pretty hard. So, yeah, probably took the day off, another mark of how offended they were.

They should start rioting after they get all the stuff they protested for forever, like the other team started doing in 2013.

I'm just sayin', in the name of science, let's test the theory and throw Pelosi into the ocean to see if she floats.

Accusations of witchcraft does add a certain warm fuzzy quality to it, though.

Usually when a Democrat says something stupid, most Republicans, myself included, just roll on the floor laughing.

These may actually be people who lost everything and get upset to hear our politicians endorsing it.

They've, or many of 'em anyway, have very real reasons for bein' offended. Like lost loved ones to Castro's prisons, etc...

Wow, maybe a dozen protesters. Maybe they are banging on the door to see if they can use the restroom.

I think the takeaway here is that only 25 or so of them were very offended by her past remarks. The rest of them don't find it to be alarming/troubling/scorn-worthy. The rest of them just don't care about the issue.

The only thing that they might do is vote against her.
