Even better ... Can you imagine people running through the streets habitually expressing that panic in 140 characters or less?

One major issue we, the modern human race, face here is that most all the newly created good independent music that comes out uses Youtube as it's primary jumping point for dissemination.

We could stand to lose a lot of great music if we lose Youtube. I realize a lot of this stuff is on other sites like Bandcamp but it's so much harder to find what you're looking for on those websites. Youtube makes decent suggestions to related things and the comments section often fills with posters suggesting related artists which makes for good leads on expanding your listening library.

Without more info Im going to go with human error, code problems or hardware failure every time before jumping to an attack.

It could be an internal security issue. I would actually be surprised if there werent groups of people trying to sabotage Google.

Seriously, youtube has been the most useful social/video website to me... It could be THE free education everybody wants... Why couldn’t they have taken Facebook?

Oh, and a reminder - this is not a police related matter.
Stop calling 911 please!

Mine will occasionally load the video thumbnails and show you even the preview when you mouse over them, but I just get video errors when I actually try to go in and watch a video. The rest of the time, YouTube loads as blank.

I didn't know so many people depend on the service. You enter YouTube in Google search right now, and it hundreds of pages with people complaining about the outage.

Im still gonna go with something breaking vs an Infosec issue.
See the majority of outages recently, for example Webex over the past 30 days that were a cascading failure of many things.
99% of the time that causes drama.
