Warren releases results of DNA test!!

WASHINGTON — Senator Elizabeth Warren has released a DNA test that provides “strong evidence’’ she had a Native American in her family tree dating back 6 to 10 generations, an unprecedented move by one of the top possible contenders for the 2020 Democratic nomination for president.

Warren, whose claims to Native American blood have been mocked by President Trump and other Republicans, provided the test results to the Globe on Sunday in an effort to defuse questions about her ancestry that have persisted for years. She planned an elaborate rollout Monday of the results as she aimed for widespread attention.

Yep, it seems she got a test done at a "private" lab and the results are in that she may have American Indian in her heritage.

One problem is this...

Detecting DNA for Native Americans is particularly tricky because there is an absence of Native American DNA available for comparison. This is in part because Native American leaders have asked tribal members not to participate in genetic databases.
“The tribes have felt they have been exploited,” explained Lawrence Brody, a senior investigator with the Medical Genomics and Metabolic Genetics Branch at the National Institutes of Health. “The amount of genetic data that is available from Native Americans is sparse.”

This in my opinion doesn't account for her changing her heritage from white to American Indian back in the early 90s....

I just hope she runs for POTUS...

Of course, I’m white as white. But my super, great, ultra, primitive ancestors originated from Africa some millions of years ago. So...there you have. The proof is in the pudding and the precedent has been set!

A guy that works for me did the test and he came up with 3% African American. This guy looks like a Viking, all blond and blue eyes, as does his entire family...lol He was damn I with I knew this back when I was in College.

I think he did. She still can't collect. 1/16 in order to be able to claim being native American. She's not even close. Even if you use the better number of 1/512 she's no where close.

She was all proud in her statement that she IS American Indian. And they are saying she is one of the front runners for POTUS...

I actually have more Native American in my DNA results, yet I would never claim to be Native American.
I had one Native American grandmother back... I think it was 7 generations. I will have to check again to be sure.
I actually know that specifically because of researching my family tree.

I am pretty sure that DNA is diluted by then so that it does not really count.

There are no tribes that would accept Warren as one of them:

She certainly used this release as some sort of proof in anticipation of running for president.
How ignorant must she be to think that people are not going to recognize that this is actually proof that she is NOT what she claims to be?

Well, well, well... she did it! I'm proud of Pocahontas!

Of course, even considering that she's the maximum from the test, 1/64th, she's still way behind me. I'm a little over 3/32nd, and my wife is 1/8 Cherokee (I have a little Creek thrown in from farther back). And I don't claim it officially. It's just a matter of personal pride having such noble genetics.

But, at lest she did take the test. I'll grant her that.

I didn't know she was actually getting tested and hadn't even thought about her. It's bad enough her political stances are stupid, now she seems like even more of a scumbag politician.

Except she's no native American. No tribes will allow her to claim she is unless she is 1/16, which she isn't.

If she stares directly into a light for 5 minutes, squints her eyes and looks really hard......she may actually see the bright side of releasing this.

And yet she didnt claim to be a member of the tribe. Only that she had ancestry from that tribe.

My grandfather is 1/8th and he is red in skintone.
