hahahahah

do they even have parties for 4 year olds?

Yes they do, and I am in my past intimately aware of mex mafia by marriage.
So I guess you think regular guys come to baby parties with guns I guess, Seems rational since you are a stay at home dad right? You should know these things.

what type of gun regulation could actually work?

Ban all guns world wide. I mean all guns, cops , military ,civilians, secret service, Nobody can get a gun ever .

Life sentence for even making one or owning one .

That is the only way it could work and that will never happen so it will never work.

i definitely dont think banning guns will help the situation.
even if there was never another one put on the street from this day.

just too many out there

i tend to think that nothing will work.
the problem definitely starts with assholes and irresponsible people.

thing is those people can legally own guns.

But it's not even just irresponsible gun owners.

You could have an impeccable record of ownership in terms of observing all the rules of correctly handling and cleaning and trigger safety, etc., but if you regard other humans as worthless, then you might be prone to eventually using that gun as a tool of murder.

This idea of that making you "irresponsible" doesn't fly with me.

That same person would still be prone to treat others like dirt and snap in the worst way ... run someone over in a fit of road rage say ... does that make them an irresponsible automobile owner?

At least four men were killed and another was injured Saturday after a shooting at a toddler’s birthday party in southern Texas, police said as they hunt for two suspects who fled the scene.
Two families gathered at a home in Taft, 12 miles north of Corpus Christi, just after 5 p.m. Saturday for a child’s first birthday party when an altercation ensued, Corpus Christi Caller Times reported.
The shooters opened fire, killing four men at the party. Another man was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

this is another example why i personally dont subscribe to the train of though that more guns are better.

we have had this debate over and over again

"if a person had a gun on him when xxxxx went down then he could/would have stopped it"

i agree to a point. he could have stopped it. could have also made it worse

i stand by my statements that i think there are a lot of cowboys out there.
situations like this
or the 2 guys that wasted a guy in an alley over dumping some mattresses

there is a serious problem with violence in general in this country and a serious problem with gun violence.

its a tough situation because people can and should have the right to protect themselves.

on one side armed citizens could maybe prevent things from happenning
the other side is the more people with guns on them means more people that can do # like this

its a situation where i dont really know how i really feel.

i know i dont want guns banned. thats for sure

i just dont know what the answer is.
what type of gun regulation could actually work?

like i was talking in another thread, there is law abiding and then there is responsible.
they are not the same thing.

just because a person has a clean background and goes through the ccw class does not mean they are a responsible gun owner.

so realistically what can we do?
what should we do?

in this situation would these people still be alive?
it is not something we can know

maybe they would have just duke it out.
maybe they would have grabbed knives.
maybe they would have gone to get their gun...

in the end i think the gun issue, and there is one is an impossible situation

How is that working out in Mexico? Your logic is flawed.

In the US, If you can get illegal drugs, you can get illegal guns. You may by all means disarm yourselves but nobody in their right mind would want to be unarmed vs the sheer number of criminals we have in the US who would have no problem acquiring firearms. We border a Narco state for heavens sake and the Dems refuse to secure the border.

i am not a stay at home dad

what is a regular guy?

i would think all sorts of people go to all sorts of parties with guns...

#ing stupid to think that only the mexican mafia does this...

i think an asshole would go to a 4 year olds party with a gun
mexican ones
white ones
black ones

christ man...

The answer is to treat EACH of these issues as a single event. Each has its own reasons for happening. There is no "GRAND SOLUTION" that will cure all evil. Whether it be a gun. a knife, a sharpened stick or a damned rock, if someone is committed to killing someone, it WILL happen. There is no regulation or law to stop that level of evil determination.

Killing is illegal....right? But somehow it still happens with or without a gun in the mix. If it were the guns, then explain that fact!!

All more regulations will do is to further restrict the folks that will actually follow the law. Those that are determined to break those laws will do so (since killing is illegal too). They made that decision....not anyone else. Punishing someone for a crime another person committed is actually unconstitutional as well.

Seek the root of the problem.
Treat the issue of hate and anger.
Address the lack of moral fortitude that has been continually degraded over the past 70 years.

Because the movement of trying to get rid of guns is real and almost a weekly occurrence that is pushed by people with a platform and an audience.

You had to know the buttons you were pushing when you framed the OP that way.

Doesn’t matter what you say or think.

The right to bare arms is a RIGHT. It’s not in place to defend your home, it’s not in place to go hunting.

An armed populace is a GOOD thing. Can you imagine for one second a President like say, the fascist Hilbeast? Or someone just like her, say Saddam Hussein?

Taking away the 2nd amendment will never happen. Stop discussing it. It will never happen.

Incidents like this are tragic, no argument there. But so are car accidents and so are acid attacks. So are mob attacks and so is looting. So is rape and so is assault. The tool is not the issue. If these losers had knives instead of guns there would still be four dead.

Talk about what? Disarming me? Disarming my children?

We already have laws not allowing criminals to have firearms.....

That is what you want to talk about correct?

Our problem with gun violence is very far down on my list of things to fix. But if you want to end violence and wrongful death, let’s see what we can do?

Let’s start with legalising certain drugs. That will greatly reduce financial incentives and the profits that gangs fight over. Gang violence is the number 1 cause of gun violence in this country.

Oh wait, no that is suicide. Mental health actually causes more deaths from gunshots than violent murder. A lot of those are veterans. So let’s stop sending our troops to other countries to kill women and children who have no stake in these bankers wars.

Let’s bring in more honest jobs that pay well. Then people will be less desparate to rob others with guns.

Let’s start a program that allows people to get real educations. Smart people commit less crime because they realise it’s much easier to start a legal business than it is to run a criminal outfit.

Then there are automobile accidents which kill over 100,000 people every year.

Then there is medical malpractice. Another 100,000 people a year. Not to mention the millions who cannot get insurance or any medical care.

Look. Let’s fix these problems, and gun deaths will actually go down. There. That was easy.

I will make the first suggestion:

1) Make sure an attorney general (Eric Holder?) doesn't sell illegal guns (Fast & Furious) to Mexican cartels where they somehow find their way back into our country to kill.

(Just one suggestion.)

How about this?

Let's talk about teaching people values again rather than strictly being secular and moral relativistic about everything? That doesn't necessarily mean religious education, but perhaps there are objective truths and actual morals that should be taught.

yes it was.

thank you

thats all im looking for man.

just like to have discussions.

people think i have an agenda. maybe its how i post. i dont know

ive said many times that i am here because this entertains me and i do like to have discussions. i like to hear peoples opinions.
this is as good a place as any.
people older than ma
younger than me
people that are 1 of the 47 recognized genders
ex military
etc etc

i like to see where other people fall on #.
i enjoy thinking about it

i do it here because i dont really associate with people in the world. 1 dude comes in my office every day for lunch and we talk about # but thats about it.

most people bother me
i bother most people

so i try to have discussions here

just seems like more and more the discussions dont happen
