UK Government Sets ‘Calorie Cap’ for Pizzas, Burgers, Soup

Breitbart Europe: Restaurants and supermarkets have been told to shrink pizzas or remove toppings under “drastic” new government plans to calorie cap thousands of foods sold in the UK.
Draft guidelines unveiled by Public Health England (PHE) would see recommended calorie limits set for regularly consumed items including sandwiches, cooking sauces, pies, soups, and processed meats, the Daily Telegraph reports.

iotwreport.com...

So the government is saying our British cousins are too fat and they need to eat less.

Authoritarian much?

How is this going to make people skinny? Instead of a large pizza, people will just eat two medium pizzas.

While this is not mandatory YET, I imagine we could see a Belly Tax, Corpulent Punishment, or even a VAT FAT TAX.

Would it be crazy if we got taxed by the size of our waistline?

I can see the thought behind this but instead of regulating caloric intake, which costs the government nothing, they should put money into education like Play 60:

Or what we've had for decades:

Participaction(Body Break) is whole body education. Burn the calories off. This however will cost money.

A personal pizza that cooks in the microwave is $1.00

A nice healthy salad is $8.00+

What do YOU think a person with limited income is able to buy for a meal?

They wonder why the poor are tired, over-weight, and have no energy. Near-sighted 'make a law to fix the problem' paper-pushers are full of hot air, and more worried about staying in office than actually helping people.

This will do nothing to get to the bottom of the obesity epidemic. Just as they intend. It isn't about the amount of calories, but the type of calories. It is all about the TYPE of food you put into your body.

But I guess the more comforting theory would be caloric intake. Then no massive poison producers, errrr I mean food producers will need to stop making their food imitations at a fraction of the price of real food. Then you can marry that to the theory that it is all genetics. I gain weight because of my genes therefore it isn't my fault. Now where did I put my 128oz soft drink? It only has 10 calories so I am good.

Mine would probably pay for new school books in a struggling city.

The UK Gov should just skip straight to total diet control via rations(like bread) distributed to people in an orderly fashion(like in line). They should do this at whatever frequency is deemed minimum for basic living needs(probably daily).

During WW2 rationing....thepopulation was extremely healthy as everyone had to follow srtict guidelines. 90% of health issues would probably go away. But folks hate being told what to do....which is fair. #mealso

The May Government is going out of it's way to be the most hated Premiership this country has suffered through since the Heath one.

I only voted for her to stop the traitorous remainers getting their way, and she couldn't even do that properly.

Wouldn't it be great if the government addressed actual issues such as wealth inequality, predatory foreign corporations exploiting the country and daylight robbery of the entire populace by the financial sector? Good luck with either of our crappy parties.

Maybe they should encourage people to actually exercise again? Or would that upset the "anti-fat shamers" too much? I eat all sorts of junk and never gain weight because I actually have an active lifestyle.

Visualize class war.

So, underground restaurants are already a thing in some big U.S. Cities. A really great cook borrows an apartment for the (weekend) evening. Serves an extremely limited menu, and it's only open to people who are part of a 'closed' social media group. It pisses off the neighbors, but the restaurant will be held in another neighborhood tomorrow night. The one I went to served a Greek meal, spanopitika with ouzo flavored with opium as an appertif.

There are poor versions of this as well. I have a friend who makes REALLY fancy wedding cakes, completely illegally. She frequently makes ones to match cakes in wedding magazines, and charges WAY less than a cake shop. Like a quarter of the price. She has no business license, and pays no tax. She asks to come to the reception and gives business cards to people who ask where the cake came from. All the advertising she does. She makes more than her husband, a machinist.

Health inspectors and tax assessor do spend time tracking them down. Supposedly the weekend before we ate at the Greek restaurant, it was in a location used once before; the next day a health inspector came, with a couple of uniformed cops, asking a lot of questions.

You know what is funny?

How we have to stop being human, to make room for more people, first they took away the whole planet, land slavery, and all that, recently they have made it impossible to own land or hunt your own food, because you know what? Its not about the money, its about "What if everyone else did this too".

So go on make babies, if you try hard enough we will soon have the luxury of those awesome coffin living spaces like they have in China.

So do not blink,
do not move,
do not even breathe.

Because what if everyone else did so too?

This whole thing is designed for robots, not living human animals.
