I think tech will be a huge factor in the control of our planet.

They don't even need an algorithm for anything.
They can just say whatever they want and you can't prove it.

Yes but they already have lots and lots of cows and sheeps and chickens and so forth. And they don't have to deal with unpredictable behavior from them before they harvest them. They'd have to basically lobotomize a human at birth to get that kind of convenience. At that point, why not just keep using the animals they already have? Seems rather pointless if they're going to turn around and sell it as mystery meat.

Actaully, 1984 was optimistic. Orwell was writing about his own time and basing things on the technology that already existed at that time. He did not imagine a 2018 smartphone.

And we can't really imagine what the world will be like in another 60-70 years.


Likely, this thread is based upon crimes that we already know of and acknowledge as crimes. Like murder or rape or robbery or whatever. Who's to say that new crimes won't be invented in the future? Could be flushing your toilet (if you still have one) at the wrong time of day will be a crime in the future.

I see it as plain as day but I try to be optimistic as well sometimes and pretend it isn't happening.
