I was just going off of your first post and signature. That she should of accused him when it happened(which is what everyone said Ford should do) and not taken the money. She did accuse him when it happened. She then took the advice of the nurse who examined her, the police detective who interviewed her, and her own family. Which was don't go public, hire a lawyer, do everything on the down low. Which is the real travesty. That everyone told her, no one would believe her.

So I apologize if I assumed wrong. You know what they say about those who assume. I just thought there was a little of what I call bleed through going on. When you take a stand on one similar subject and feel forced to take the same stand on other different but similar topics.

You can't tell me that some people won't let whats going on with the Kavanaugh/Ford fiasco(which is a case with zero evidence) bleed through to their thoughts on this(a case with some credible evidence). It is just where we are at. But if you were looking at the case objectively, and treating it as completely separate. Then again I apologize.

If Mayorga did so, the nurse admonished, the public would portray Mayorga as a woman who was attempting to extort money through false accusations.

I can't understand why a guy like Cristiano Ronaldo, with all those women crazy for him around the world, needs to do that. His career could get destroyed now.

Ronaldo at the time wasnt making anything close to what he is now.

By reopening this, she will likely easily get the $375k paid back and probably get a few million out of it.

In 2009, Ronaldo was sold to Real Madrid, in a WORLD RECORD transfer, he was allready the biggest star in premier league, playing for Man United, and was properly one of the world best paid soccer players allready, before the move to Real Madrid - the guy was RICH!!! no doubt about that...

Something seems strange to me here in the comments from the nurse, but it's possible I'm just too damn old school anymore. Is soccer really a thing in the US now? The nurse claims "Mayorga says that a nurse at the hospital curiously discouraged her from implicating Ronaldo to the authorities. If Mayorga did so, the nurse admonished, the public would portray Mayorga as a woman who was attempting to extort money through false accusations." which seems to be a weird position for an American to take... I'm speaking as someone who has absolutely no flipping clue WTF "Christiano Ronaldo" is and actually thought this was an accusation against a woman when I opened this link... dude owns a woman's name.

I actually think it is very american to pay you way out of trouble. Everybody sues each other over there, over the craziest things. From what i hear, it is very normal to make deals outside the court in america.
And maybe it is getting more normal in europe, but it is deffinately an american thing.

ETA: Dude also sounds and act like a girl, so the name might be very fitting in the end

He was a SUPERSTAR in manchester united, one of the biggest clubs in the world at the time. Premier league (PL) is where the money is, only few other clubs in the world can match the wages paid in PL. Trust me, he was well paid and allready a superstar before the move to Real Madrid.

Others from Europe who knows soccer can confirm this. He got big in a very young age, won the Ballon d´or (The best player in the world) in 2008 after being second best 2007...

The US is well behind Germany, Sweden, Israel, and Austria in lawsuits per capita and it looks like most of Europe is close behind the US.

I really don't want this to be true because I am such a big fan of his but it doesn't look good for him.

Seems like they had made a settlement before for her to keep quiet which I think speaks volumes to his guilt.

I can see how it could happen, I can see how he might ask to pop it in the pooper and she says no, he does it anyway....its rape, no means no and thats it, consenting to vaginal intercourse is not consent to anything else and he should have respected that.

It could have just been one of the those things, drunk, in the throws of passion, wild sex, lets do this!!! and....yeah its still rape.

Even with the evidence presented, i cant believe my eyes! but still think there is some difference. I think these numbers in europe, MOSTLY, includes the state suing/prosecuting, where in USA, it is more common to sue each other (private persons).
Atleast in Denmark, where that sort of thing is actually possible, but not a thing that is very common.

Guess i cant make fun of you guys for suing each other all the time anymore - and even worse, i cant make fun of the people in EU anymore, they might sue me!!
But atleast you guys still has the most lawyers, with one out of every 300 people, i wouldnt feel very safe on the streets

He paid the mother of his first child, to not be a part of the childs life and has told his friends he wont tell the child who his mother is, before the kid turns 18... He has never been a very sympathetic guy

Assaults of this nature are NOT things that a victim can just "Buck up and report right away". Going through a legal proceeding immediately after going through a trauma of that nature, is the psychological equivalent of having your stomach sliced open with a knife, and then showing a copper the damage, by pulling back the rent flesh, and showing the officer your internal organs. Expecting this is inhuman and unrealistic, whether you accept that it is or not.

Quit expressing your absolute ignorance of the fragility of the human mind, and expecting it to fly with reasonable people, you complete cretins. Damned well evolve already.
