#1 American Graffiti no question.
#2 Stand By Me

Then you've got anything with Ry Cooder (Streets of Fire, Southern Comfort). Then, John Carpenter's pretty much anything. Throw in Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells which is the iconic sound of The Exorcist and that runs the table.

Repo Man Soundtrack

This is Spinal Tap

Amadeus

That is a pretty good cross section of my 80s influence! Add in The Decline of Western Civilization, both parts, and that would be me up to about 20-something.

There are others like Hughes' teen movies with the "brat pack" that introduced a bunch of music that could easily be included. And concert soundtracks like Stop Making Sense or what some say is even funnier This is Spinal Tap, Rattle and Hum!!

Everyone has great answers so far

How about anything ennio morricone

Ecstasy of gold from the good the bad and the ugly may be my all time favorite song

That reminded me of Angelo Badalamenti, the dude who wrote the music for Twin Peaks

Thanks everyone for more soundtracks to search and listen to!

Ennio Morricone's western soundtracks are totally awesome, I kept the best tracks on my phone.

Especially thanks to whoever posted Alexiane from Valerian, great track!

Some others I think people forget about...

First Blood
Gladiator
Pacific Rim (the title track, pure gold)
300

And some hard to find ones (most on YouTube)...

Lone Wolf McQuade
Once Upon a Time in China (Jet Li, originally titled Huang Fei Hong)
Dune (80s OST, not the TV series though it's good as well)

videosong below is amazing.... really good when given context in the episode too.

rick and morty is incredibly thought provoking and possibly one of the best shows currently out... it's amazing what they come up with and the twists etc.

If Carlsberg did movie soundtracks, Trent Reznor would produce them.

Forgiveness - Theme song from Ørnen

I, I'm a roamer in time
I travel alone
Throughout an endless journey
Home, where is my home
Fragments of a love life
I won't surrender

When the spirits are calling my name
Then I will have passed all the sorrow and pain

And I`ll go to heaven with you
I will lay down my head on your pillow
and ask for forgiveness

Once I was just a child
I saw wide open
You left me brokenhearted
Fly, I have to fly
Searching for the light
I won't surrender
