There is a channel on YouTube called The Kings of Horror.
I'm not sure sure what connects these movies, since even a Google or Wikipedia search takes me to a different franchise called Masters of
Horror.
The story-lines are usually quite good, but the execution quite mediocre, and low budget.
Usually the judgement is: not too bad, but "Kings of Horror" you are not.
There is one remarkable exception however: The Visitant.
Check it out on YouTube, the best haunting-type movie since The Entity (1983)!
Here the trailer:
I only caught the story-line in the second viewing, and I can relate to purchasing a haunted object with a demon attached (in this case, a mask).
Although in the film the story-line works backwards, and is secondary to the sheer frightfulness of proceedings.
Apparently it's based on a true story (allegedly so was The Entity), and there may be a second part.
A pity I can't find more information.
Well, I would recommend it.
Especially the way that technology is presented as a sub-plot "fright" in the context of a haunting (although it's not another "haunted Facebook"
flick) is a nice, spooky touch.

I can't stand jump scared, I personally think they are cheap. The fact that this one has little means I may give it a try.
Off Topic: Masters of horror were all original stories, I think the one you are thinking of, as far as Stephen King goes, was Nightmares and
Dreamscapes.

OK in The Visitant and The Entity - the demon was definitely male and abusive.
Almost in the trend of: "If I can't have you, no other man will" towards the female protagonist.
Just they are disembodied - almost like if the Devil himself stalks you.
Perhaps it was the Devil?
But there was another movie once (not actually too old).
I cannot remember the name.
But a Jennifer Lopez-type actress was literally abused by her dead psychopathic husband/male partner.
Was it Jennifer Lopez?
I'd like to see that movie again.
That also wasn't too bad, by my memory.
Does anybody recall the title?

Really enjoyed "100 Feet." Sad to say I saw "The Visitant" but thought the acting was not up to par-and was one those films I felt was
"claustrophobic."
"!00 Feet" was better written and acted. It had a nice build up and great ending. "The Visitant" lacked in just about every area. I really like
independent films but it just looked and sounded cheap-like maybe film school final cheap.
Please do share if you do come across a good syfy movie.
