Their idea of "Globalism" will lead to the same things already happening with the "European Union": Supra-national, far-away non-local organizations, judges, police and regulators deciding what local people eat, what information they are allowed to see, etc. The WHOLE WORLD being affected by ridiculous EU Internet laws is just a recent example.

I dont want to be governed by people I did not elect, do not know and cannot see, meet or talk to. I'm glad Trump is saying it, to the great dismay of his puppet audience at the U.N.

It is smart to have allies, especially with Europe and anyone else we can get.

China is transitioning into a digital dictatorship and is planning on expanding its influence by sharing its technology with like-minded friends and building infrastructure in other countries as well in order to gain influence there. Russia certainly doesn't like us, either.

Globalism results are much the same as European Union results. Citizens of sovereign nations get their already stifled voices trampled under another layer of bureaucracy and elitism.

All that favors the biggest players and squashes the individuals and small businesses, just like it was designed to do.

I have thought for a while now that we America should become again isolationists (staying out of others social and political affairs) and produce products and services internally to be used internally, and sell products externally and have limited imports. We have become a society that relies on inexpensive products from other countries and cheap food products, we should want more for our citizens. I think it would take a hard 5 years to get America back into the swing of producing and consuming internally, but during this time you would see a shape increase in employment and economic growth. The we would be self sufficient again.

Wonderfully, actually.

Our "allies" are weak (for the most part) and holding us back. With mutually assured destruction (and the will/courage to strike when/if needed) you don't need allies. The World isn't held together by con games like globalism.

Glad to see Trump call out the commie/socialist globalist statist tools.

Exactly right

American Citizens deserve these jobs/benefits, not foreigners.

Hate to say this but actually Obama was pretty much correct on this.

Problem is that Trump has never understood the "World Order" established by the US and its Allies after WWII. He's never understood how that led to the remarkable rebuilding of Europe after the war and how Free Trade has increased the wealth of all the countries participating in it.

The result of Trump's "America First" initiative may well be the abandonnment of the US Dollar as the leading World Reserve currency. When that happens Trump will truly learn how to spell "bankruptcy".

Is war what you want ? You happy for your children to die in conflict ?

Globalism is a way of avoiding war ,you reject it at your own peril.

Hmmmm Let me think....

Live yet be controlled by a one world government that can dictate my freedoms without having a say...

vs

Die fighting that same global, fascist, communist dictatorship that wants to control me and spread my earnings...

Guess I'll die with my boots on...

Sometimes war is necessary if you want freedom. Sometimes the price of freedom is paid for with a lot of blood.

I'd rather be a free man than a slave.

No offense Tony, but your view of American history sounds like it came directly from The History Channel.

Global cooperation can absolutely exist amongst soveriegn nations without borders disappearing and national identities being extinguished. They'd like you to believe otherwise.

"It's alright! It's alright!"

All the locals hide their tears of regret
Open fire cause I love you to death
Sky high with a heartache of stone
You'll never see me cause I'm always alone

I'm in love without a trace of dissent
I'll buy the torture cause you pay for the rent
Tied high with a broken command
You're all alone in the promised land

"It's alright! It's alright!"

I'm in love with this malicious intent
You've been taken but you don't know it yet
What you will know must never live to be found
Cause it's a subject in the eyes of the clown

What we are looking at
Is good and evil, right and wrong
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
We're not about to make that same mistake twice
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order
A new world order

It's downright hysterical seeing all the Obama Democrats come in and say how much they hate war. Guess they had blinders on for 8 straight years.

It isn't about "without borders disappearing and national identities being extinguished". Its about abandoning the trade and finance mechanisms set in place after WWII.

And no, its not the "History Channel", which, I suppose was supposed to be an insult.

See:
foreignpolicy.com...

there no longer can be any doubt that U.S. President Donald Trump wants to dismantle the liberal world order. That order—a system of multilateral arrangements, alliances, and institutions—was built in the ashes of World War II under U.S. tutelage and strength of arms. It extends from the European Union and NATO to the long-standing security guarantees Washington has established with Asian countries such as Japan and South Korea. The resulting Pax Americana laid the groundwork for the greatest period of peace and prosperity in human history.

And as for borders disappearing? You Americans haven't had much of anything resembling real border control since the 1950's. And that's why your national identity is being extinguished.

Nations formed because groups of people have beliefs and practices that differ from their neighbors. It's a natural social evolution. Globalism is like throwing every kind of fish in a small aquarium and hoping the sharks prefer the food you give them.
