Defense Distributed founder Cody Wilson — known for his fight with the US government over 3D-printed guns — has been charged with sexually assaulting a minor, according to The Austin American-Statesman. The Statesman reports that police filed an arrest warrant for Wilson today in Travis County, Texas, alleging that a girl under 17 years old (the state’s age of consent) said Wilson paid her for sex after meeting on a site called SugarDaddyMeet.com. The Statesman reports that jail records show Wilson had not been booked as of this morning, but police had corroborated the story with hotel records and surveillance footage. Wilson did not immediately respond to a phone call requesting comment.

So they have evidence, camera footage, etc.

With the current political climate we have, I see this guy going away for a little while to "set an Example", and as so he should; not of legal age to consent? hands off, creeper.


I wonder if he'll run into Jared down the road?

Other than it was the same guy, what does the fact that he's the 3-D gun guy have to do with anything? Is this supposed to mean that correlation = causation or what?

The website could be liable for not vetting the people registering to the website.

Yeah, that is what I want to know.... which is why I asked if it was a setup. So he goes to SugarDaddyMeet or whatever for a fling. The girl already shouldn't be on the site if she is under aged. I guess the question is if she straight up told him she was underage and that didn't stop him. IMHO that is what the case is really resting on.

True story I once messaged a girl on a dating site that said she was 18 then she replies back talking about sex trying to get me to say things I refuse to say then says she's 15 and tried to get me to say I wanted sex. Turned out to be a police sting operation.

Although this seems more like a scam where he didn't pay up or something. This story really seems off but I'll await further details.

Actually it may not matter there have been cases where girls lied and even showed fake id and the guy was still charged.

When I was in my 20s I rarely went to bars but met teen girls with fake id that looked older than the girls I was with all in their 20s.

Society needs to make a distinction between predators and these people.

I thought it sounded like a setup of some sort as well, seeing how we have our current *ahem* issue going on right now..... but the fact that there was enough evidence to file formal charges and have surveillance footage to back it up, adds some significant credibility to the charges.

Particularly in Texas, the "Incarceration State". To be accused is to be guilty; if you can't prove you're innocent, you're guilty. She provides fake I.D. showing she's 19, still guilty. The way the Criminal Justice system in Texas sees it:
"Everybody's guilty of something, everyone should serve a little time".

Just the title; to me, it points out two things:

1. Another person who made the headlines being accused of assault, and

2. Another person the left HATES being accused of sexual assault.

I'll reiterate though as what I said could be a little misleading - I am leaning towards this being legitimate due to evidence availability.

I guess it depends... they could have a video of the guy meeting her, however, that still does not prove that she told him she was under aged which is the issue imho. If she did clearly and unequivocally tell him she is underaged, then setup or not, the guy needs the book thrown at him.

In the 80s one of the biggest porn stars was Traci Lords. She was underaged the entire time (lied about her age / fake IDs). Almost shut the industry down. She also didn't look 16 or 17...

I say sue SugarDaddyMeet.com! I mean come on! A reputable place like that must surely vet their sex workers for STDs and age status! Right?

The article says a councilor found out, and the councilor went to the police, not the girl. The police interviewed the girl and found out it was Cody Wilson from the profile pictures he was using. They then obtained camera footage from the meeting at the hotel.

Now I am sure I am going to catch some flack for this later . If my better half sees my internet history. But I just went to the website where they met and looking around at the FAQ, it says to become a verified member the person has to post a clear picture of their photo ID. And only verified gold members can send messages. However, it did not say if only the male sugar daddies had to verify, or if the female sugar babies also had to verify in the same way.

I guess the moral of the story is. If you are going to pick a fight with the government. Don't put yourself in situations like this. Where in the best case scenario, you accidentally become a sex predator. The worse case scenario is of course, that he knew she was underage and went ahead anyways. Either way, not looking good for this dude. Not looking good at all.
