if your daughter came home from a party and she told you an older drunk boy pinned her down and tried to take her cloths off with his hand over her mouth, you gonna tell her toughen up buttercup?

cool.

My daughter knows better, than to be in that situation. She is NEVER EVER allowed at a house without parents home. She knows that I will absolutely check.

Edit to add: if she waited 36 years to tell me, I'd wonder where I went wrong raising her and I will be the first to say that I would be hesitant to believe her memory.

Have I repeated it in response to your post?

If not, then it's a single response to a single poster's post.

I believe you did in response to one of my earlier posts.
I followed up by asking if, unlike Ford, you remembered where & when your rape occurred...and you never responded.

I also asked you then, if you feared that by letting him off the hook, you ever wondered if he did the same thing to others after you.

Again, no response.

i'm not playing stupid. why don't you explain why a few days is a big deal? i honestly want to know!

Why now? A few days ago, she wasn't going to testify until there was an FBI investigation. Now that the FBI has pretty much said 'not interested', now she needs more time. This, on top of the fact that Feinstein sat on it for several weeks already.

It looks to me like they're stalling. If I'm scheduling the hearing, I'm not having any of it. She could come in Monday or if not, the Senate should continue the confirmation process.

Well , she is a Professor with a PhD , but what she did was not Very Smart IMO , but Reckless for Herself and her Family. It has also been Reported that she was Driven into doing this by a Extreme Hatred of President Trump , and I am Sure her " Leftist " Liberal Friends who Obviously Talked Her into this just Ruined her Career and Life . Mere Cannon Fodder in the War of the Politic Mizzzzzz Ford . Piff !

You've got a daughter, and I've got a son.

Neither of us has an easy task for different reasons, but it all stems from stuff like this.

I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you really don't understand why "few days" make a difference. So I'll explain it like your 5 years old.
The whole purpose of this whole thing is to delay Judge Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation to the US Supreme Court until after the midterm elections, in the hope that the Democrats retake the majority of the seats.
If they can do that, they will be able to dismiss any and all candidates that Donald Trump's names for the Supreme Court.
Further, they hope they can hold off on confirming anyone to the Supreme Court until they can get a Democat President into office.
The people that are behind this Ford woman really don't give a damn about her, she's simply a tool for them to delay this confirmation vote until after the midterm.
Any investigation begun now would be deliberately dragged out until after the elections.
Now do you understand?

If Ford wants to wait until after Monday, I have no problem with that. Take the vote NOW and she can testify whenever she wants. If she can make claims with sufficient credibility, an investigation can be opened.

We have her answer, and should have a vote on confirmation no later than Friday.

CLAIM: ‘Compelling evidence’ will soon ‘exonerate’ Judge Kavanaugh

Bombshell:A former law clerk for the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia has made a bold claim on Twitter — that embattled SCOTUS nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh will be exoneratedwithin a week, based on “compelling evidence.”

That's a huge prediction to make based on nothing specific... So I've tried to think of what kind of "evidence" could prove Kav's innocence and under these circumstances... Maybe one of the named witnesses saying it happened but it wasn't Kavanaugh?

I really don't know.

I would say another person that says they did this to her, or that there was indeed another accusation prior to by Ford.

Yes, vote. Start preparing yourself for the onslaught.

Anybody who would deny this woman an investigation either:

1. Fears what the outcome might be.
2. Doesn't want to know the truth.
3. Or worse, secretly believe her and yet don't give a rat's ass about the truth because they are so entrenched trying to protect their jobs.

They All need to be fired.

Denying this woman an investigation is making a mockery of our government. Trump could and should order the FBI to investigate it. This is dirty and I'm losing what little respect I had left for the Republicans. They are as dirty as they can be. It's sickening. The truth is something that is no longer needed or wanted with this Congress.

Which of the above three options do you fall into? Because you DO fall into one of them.

I do remember that.
I also remember the Bork and Thomas hearings.
In fact it was the Clarence Thomas debacle that woke me up to the shameful antics of the dim party and I had my '#walkaway' moment because of it.

How many times can "she waited 35 years" be repeated?

And -- perspective.

How was this woman raised? Was she naive? From overprotective parents? Was she raised in a religious environment?

As I've said before, this absolutely needs to be investigated, on both sides. Investigate the snip out of it. Her past and all financial accounts included.

Annee,

You're a tough cookie. I've witnessed your toughness over the years, on this site. Why are you siding with someone that makes us women out to be so defenseless and weak?
