There's nothing wrong with having the internet as a hobby. There's just something very wrong with what the most prominent parts of internet has turned into.

It's like TV. Watching a lot of TV isn't necessarily that much of a problem. It's more about WHAT you watch and how you think. Back in the day when TV was king, people who watched a lot of garbage and didn't keep a healthy emotional and mental distance from it had serious issues. Same with the internet. People who completely lose themselves in the sewage of the internet are going to have big problems.
