Hot Pickles, Cheddar and Beer

Seriously, it sounds funny but heck cheese and pickles are status quo on a burger, right? And beer goes good with anything, also?

Get some good really sharp cheddar, a Van Holten's Hot Pickle from your local vendor and choose your beer.

I'm doing it now. It's amazing.

My favorite is a thick burger on a toasted bun with pepper jack cheese and horseradish mayonnaise .

Funny. I like Tabasco in certain instances -- on popcorn(lots of fake butter and a little really good salt and is even better when it's kicked up with Frank's Red Hot) , in a Bloody Mary, on biscuits and gravy but I don't like it in the Hormel chili nor the Slim Jim.

Go figure.

I also get that after work almost every day. I like to get the Tabasco slim jim, and sometimes the the picante Chelada, sometimes the regular Bud lite chelada. Yummmm.

Okay, now I get it and I'm with you. When I read your OP, I thought you meant heated pickles, cheese and beer. You mean spicy hot. I'm down. I could probably live on that trifecta of joy for a very long time.

I would say it's more like "beer is beer with anything". You could fill a glass halfway up with piss and half beer and you wouldn't know the difference.

Egg whisked, lil garlic dill salt pepper dip, stick in cornmeal and flour with cayenne...deep fry til golden.

Dip in beer cheese, or queso

drink libation of choice

Not everyone likes beer, its a man thing.

Only place you get pickles here is from American chains like McDonald's and Hungry Jacks (Burger King for non-aussies)

Basic burger here would be bun, burger patty, tomato sauce, maybe mayo, onion, tomato and lettuce.

A Hamburger with The Lot is generally the above but with cheese, a fried egg, bacon, and a pineapple ring.
Sliced beetroot may also be present.

And of course all the other variations like Cheese Burgers, Chicken Burgers etc. exist.

But yeah, you rarely if ever get pickles on the vast majority of Aussie burgers. Only time I see them is on Big Macs and Whoppers.
I know a lot of people who can't stand the things. lol

Back in the early days of Maccas in OZ, they had a glass window where you could see the goings on in the kitchen whilst you dined.

They gave up the window thing after they were constantly plastered with unwanted pickles ...

Now they stick them under the tables.
