Trump is not an anonymous source. If Woodward released tapes that included sources who wished to remain anonymous it would be a breach of professional ethics.

This is Woodward we're talking about. He kept the identity of the most famous anonymous source in history secret for 40 years.

Tell you what, link to a source for Mattis' statement that does not lead back to Trump's tweet. He is not making a public statement himself because he will eventually need to testify under oath. The only statement we have is from a Pentagon spokesman who claims that Bernstein never interviewed Mattis.

It’s people saying he has tapes that prove, I don’t know something about someone calling trump mean names, and how he will release them eventually to prove his book

And so when I read the press accounts of what's going on here, I say, "gee, how could they have gotten that that wrong?" So I think the press, and maybe it's because only certain people talk and those people maybe leak or are sources — and maybe those people aren't as honorable as they should be. But when I read what they write, I think to myself they may have had some low-level source and that's — and to write a story like that — whatever "that" is for a major newspaper like the Post or the Times -- to base it on almost rumor strikes me as being a little bit — not the way to do business.

These guys would tell you how it's fake news and demand evidence even if Trump himself pleads guilty of every accusation on Fox & Friends.
It bothered me in the begining but now it's actually entertaining to watch how far they will go to deflect. A shrink could write a major on crap people post here.

Woodward would have provided his tapes, diaries, etc to his editor and publisher's lawyers. They're not going to let him publish anything that can't be backed up with evidence. They're not going to leave themselves open to any kind of lawsuit.

If a book was made about anonymous sources saying they heard people connected to obama saying he was dumb, that would something I also wouldn’t be interested in and I would say is gossip

But the anti trump people not only believe every word they hear reported by the press about this book before they have read one page, but feel this gossip is reason to impeach trump
