Apparently it should be acceptable to have a black actor playing a white historical character though it is apparently wrong for white actors to play fictional Black characters. I'm really struggling to grasp what's going on in the world, maybe I'm getting too old?

It suggests they're upset about something else eg the modern world. Give them time and they'll catch up. Or maybe they'll end up sitting on a corner shouting at the traffic while their kids live well adjusted lives.

Your argument should be that it should be changed to an Asian actor not a black actor!

The point is that that character was originally white, bring the show back but don't change major characters colours. It loses its identity.

I do have the sneaking feeling when I have one of my rants about how the whole millennial generation are a waste of space that I am probably turning into a grumpy old man but when it comes to stuff like this it is the complete hypocrisy that gets me.

I guess it's just me, who thinks taking a TV show (a TV SHOW) about a WITCH so seriously.. and worrying about the ensuing chaos and damage, is ridiculous and pointless. Who cares? Is the show a remake for those who watched it before? No. It's a remake for the current gen, who couldn't care less about the husband wife dynamics in 1964. You know.. over FIFTY years ago.

And how often do these shows work as reboots, rarely ever, add a bit of liberal spin (Darren the white shirker) and its got all the chances of a # in a space suit...

Sure the BLM's will lap it up but unless its kill the honky with black magic every week the hardened BLM's will get bored as well.

The bottom line, leave the old shows alone, be they timeless classics, inappropriate now or bilge, leave them alone. We seem to spend so much time rewriting history to suit and not enough time creating new history that's worth having..

All this technology that could have helped integrate back then now only fuels the void created by political players and the want everything for 'nuffin' brigade..

There's enough intelligence out there for all this to work...if only it all communicated properly...

That's kinda not true..they were pissed he made an all white version of the Have and the have Nots/If loving You is wrong show that was TERRIBLE, and they felt like it hurt the brand (??!!). He currently has a all white show and LOTS of Caucasian characters on Have and the have Nots and other drama.. and none of that made it any better.

I got nothing for bad actors no matter the race! LOL!
