First,details of the dossier were released before the election.

In fact, the mother jones article that sourced christopher steele was released in late october 2016 (before the election). This is what steele "fired" from the fbi.

In addition, CIA director brennan had also leaked info to harry reid before the election on August 27, 2016.

So you are actually incorrect, the dossier and its details were being spread around to both the media and Trumps opponents before the election.

Now as to the question why did comey not release that there was an investigation before the election.

For the same reason he did release info on reopening the Hillary investigation.

He admitted why; he thought Hillary was a shoe in to win.

Thus he sought to position himself better by making himself look legitimate, and in his own words he was seeking to avoid people questioning Hillary in her early days as President.

He just miscalculated.

Think of it, had he released details of an investigation claiming trump was colluding with russians, and hillary won, they would have been forced to carry the investigation forward and prove those allegations (which as we are now seeing, is not going to happen). All the while people would have been claiming that if the FBi couldnt prove trump russia collusion, they stole the election for Hillary.

However, if he keeps his mouth shut, and Hillary wins, then all of the details iof the investigation become meaningless and it just fades away.

In that world, do you think all of the evidence we are now seeing from places like the article in the OP would have ever seen the light of day? Of course not!

The trump russia investigation in my opinion was used for two things.

First, it was used to get details on the trump campaign that could be fed to Obama's intel team and by proxy Hillarys team, sort of like an ultra version of Nixons people breaking in to the watergate. And if they found something really dirty on trump, it would have been used. Otherwise, well at least the got the benefit of having ears on trumps teams communications about strategies in the election.

The second reason for the investigation was admitted by peter strzok, it was an "insurance policy". Even though they were almost positive of Hillary winning, they needed to make sure in the very unlikely event she lost, they had some sort of leverage over trump to make sure he couldnt really go rogue and usurp the intel agencies power.

And so, viola, and investigation that continues to this day, that hasnt even come close to proving even a shred of evidence of trump russian collusion. But it allowed them to raid his lawyers office and have their media friends smear trump with it 24/7. (in case you question they are friends with the media, isnt it odd that Brennan and clapper now work for media companies that hate trump)

And as more info comes out of the abuse of the intel community, the squealing from people like Brennan is getting louder.

But you seem reasonable, so I am sure you will want all of Ohr's messages to be declassified which will surely prove his and the intel communities innocence, right?

We know for a fact that Bruce Ohr was communicating with and passing ionfo on from christopher steele AFTER steele was fired from the fbi.

We also know for a fact that Ohr was in contact with Hillary attorney glenn simpson, who himself was a unregistered russian lobbyist working for russian oligarchs seeking to remove sanctions on russia.

I have seen you respond to threads that show proof of this, and you just ignore it and type one line that says "Thats wrong" or "Trump is guilty"

It paints a picture that you really dont care if the ingtel agencies acted unethically or broke the law; you are just cheering for your team.

So I will ask you straight forward; I know that you are 100 percent certain that the intel agencies did everything perfectly ethically and legitimately.

But if the intel agencies did act in improper ways, would you want that to be investigated and people held accountable?

No one but a few journalists ever heard of the dossier before the election. They kept it secret and none of it was published. Why you ask??? Because they couldn't confirm the information.
So much for publishing fake news.
In Oct 2016 Mother Jones first reported on its existence but only published a few bits of the dossier because again it was largely unconfirmed at that time.
When BuzzFeed published it in its entirety it was well after the election.
Both trump and Obama found out about in in January 2017.

No you don't know that. That is an unfounded conspiracy theory made up to disqualify the dossier.
Glen Simpson was Hillary's attorney? Must have been moonlighting after hours at Fusion GPS then. Because Glen Simpson is the owner of that.
There has been no proof of anything that you said. I think you made that up.
The picture being painted is one built on conspiracy theories and plain old wishing as far as I can see. The information regarding the dossier is ready available for serious people who don't just fall in line with the stupidness being spread around.


And the only unethical person involved in this is the subject.
