Speaking of Soar Dragon, they used one to monitor the Antietam when it went through the Taiwan Strait back in July.

I wonder what the Chinese are working on that they aren't showing us. Going to sh*t myself when they roll out the Mechanical Battle Pandas to help with their foreign policy goals.

They have a pretty big fastmover under development if the news out is accurate.

The different orgs in China were ordered to set aside rivalries to get a bird in the air in 2025.

Something...rattled them.

Is that another case of copying a chapter from the US's book? Haha.

My thoughts, too small for strategic, no fuel, if it’s a rocket, war head would be small, rocket artillery or short range cruise missile.

Depending on fuel and flight profile it could get some pretty decent range and be an ISR platform. Especially with it being air launched.

Would the wing tips not get in the way for air launched?

if they undermounted the attachment, and then rolled upon separation, or did a piggy back like the d21, it would be fine. All depends on where on the main bird they want to put it

Looks like the WZ-8 has been confirmed as being in serial production.

Why does a tail assembly mean that it is in serial production? Is there some sort of context I'm missing?

What I find the *MOST* fascinating about the Malan Triangle, ahem, WZ-8, is how little it is mentioned in the aerospace press.

the more i look at it, it might have been air dropped and landed.

i guess they could replace the nose and the leeding edges but still something looks off.

There are pretty obvious connectors on top for airdrop. There has been a number of modified H-6 bombers where this would fit in really well in the underbelly.

I would not be surprised if this is a model though. There might be sensitive bits, they do not want people seeing or taking photographs of. Like, for example, anywhere sensors might be mounted.
