Ok. I am drinking before noon but please don't get worried. I know i am an alcoholic and it causes a lot of **** but today i got this.

I just sent a fire dragon flying your way. It is going to help you and your man with daily tasks. She looks fierce, but she is kind and loves washing dishes and vacuum cleaning!

Here is a pic so you know to open the door for her. Or a window.

Bahahaha! How very thoughtful of you Fin! I'll be sure to keep an eye out for her. Looks like she would be good at barbecuing too.

Now...I must wander off to dreamland and slay evil beasts then dance in the enchanted forest with faeries.

Good day to you kind Sir!

A shout out to a fine man, the leader of a fine Scottish family and an all-around reasonable man with good values! Drummer gordi!

You arranged a new writing competition

"“THE CRIMINALS DEFENSE”

A variation on “The Thief’s Defense” – You are tasked with writing a short story which looks at a criminal act (a robbery, bombing, murder etc) from the perpetrator’s perspective...
WHY did they commit the criminal act in the first place? HOW are their actions justifiable?
"

I want to participate. Not today, maybe not tomorrow, but when i am sober. English is easier for me when i am sober. You know, i am not into violence, but i have had my share of mental disorders. Even when psychotic, i have never harmed others, only myself. But i tell you i can come up with some quite NASTY! stuff! I just have to keep it within terms and conditions.

I made a google image search about wolf leader and this is what i found.

I hope that you are not feeling insecurity. Getting away from job and finding a new one. Insecurity is bad. It makes you so... insecure...

So some wolf courage for you, you will get through this!

I'm more than a little sorry I changed the cat's kibble, he's been eating Merrick for years. It took a lot of trial and error and trying who knows how many different brands of varying costs to find something that worked for him over his life. The kibble hunt is so frustrating, but it's gratifying when you finally find the dry food that works for them. Our eldest late cat did best on Wysong in his old age. Our other late cat, a "problem" cat with a very touchy, highly sensitive stomach did best on Science Diet her whole life. This ol' boy does best on Merrick, he never could tolerate cheaper foods (always developed kidney & bladder issues -- infections & stones/crystals)

I thought it would be a good idea to switch him over to a proper senior formula, since he technically is one. I couldn't find the senior formula Merrick makes anywhere around us, so I opted for Royal Canin's Aging formula.

Holy crap (pun intended) BIG mistake.

The litter box stiiiiiiinks to high hell when he goes. Not the medically alarming "OMG, what crawled up your ass, died and fermented for 20 years" kind of awful, but you cat owners know what I mean -- the outright stinky bowel movements cats can churn out.

Sorry buddy, I know you really like this stuff, and it seems to be giving you an energy boost, too....But you're a whole bag in and it hasn't gotten any less smelly yet. You're going back to the normal stuff until I can get some of the Merrick Senior.

You are a really good writer as I must emphasize again . You had me enthralled with your description of cleaning. There was a plot, a protagonist, you, an antagonist, time and ignorance. Your acute perspective of the "crime scene" and your curios unraveling, leading to a solution. Even objective observations.

Sorry I know you were writing about your day, I applaud your fervor, which I "envy". But you do write very well, that distracted me.
I have made a mental note of "The Swiffer Floor Duster Car Cloth" suggestion. Walls are a pain.

Lol, thanks, WiS. While I don't consider myself a particularly spiffy writer in the fiction sense, I can ramble on. I'm glad it gave you a few moments' distraction in your day

and........ FWIW, as a crazy cat person, I am eternally grateful that only three of the ferals domesticated themselves and decided to become indoor-outdoor cats. They would need much more staff than my Darlin' and me if we had all nine inside. Besides, the Tychem 10000 is a bit pricey.

If you want quality cat-food there is one brand I recommend. Hill's. It ain't cheap but it is good. My beloved Midnight ate it for at least 10 years and I suspect it's why she lived so long. 50 bucks for 10 kilos (22 pounds) of dry food. No silly rice, vegetables or other things cats cannot digest easily.

www.hillspet.com...

And no stinky poo! (At least not that I noticed. No guarantee implied or given!)

They have senior formula and a bunch of other varieties too. Maybe worth a look. It's under Science Diet.

We used to travel with a dog and two cats in the family sedan.

Cat litter tray at your feet if you were in the back seat.

Invariably a cat would pinch one off within a mile of leaving home on a 200 mile trip.

The dog just farted most of the way.
Fun times !

I'm not sure what I find funnier. People taking their cat on vacation (I mean really! Did the cat enjoy it? LOL) or having a cat litter tray in the rear foot-well of a motor vehicle. Regardless, I am laughing.

ETA I should qualify that. When I was 17 and left home I didn't have a cat carrier and thought holding her on my lap was enough. I was wrong. As soon as the engine started it went wrong. She almost caused the driver to crash. Maybe you need to start them at a young age.

Nyiah, I too have always enjoyed your writing. You made me laugh with your cat poo experience. LOL
I am using Iams for Kya. I had a Himalayan live to be 19 and that was what he ate for dry food.

Argentus,When I saw you in here I thought we were in trouble for something. LOL
It's so wonderful of you and your wife to be looking after all those cats. Nice to see you and hope you decide to pop in again soon!

Hiya Light! How are you today? Your foot must be improving more and more each day?

Timely, I chuckled at your traveling story with the animals. LOL

Fin, I hope you do enter the writers contest. Looking forward to that!

Yes, nine. No, surely not THE crazy cat person, just one of them. That'sMyStoryAndI'mStickingToIt. They are all feral except one rescue cat, and they all came to us, mostly one at a time. Whaddaya gonna do? Chase 'em away?
All have been trapped and taken to the vet for neutering.

On the other hand, two of the formerly feral cats now sleep on our bed at night, and graciously allow us a modest part of the bed for our own use. One of them chooses to be a cat-hat for my Darlin'. I shave my head and thus they don't fancy cat-hatting me, which is a good thing.

I make coconut oil and we have lots of coconut trees. Not a single rat. Anywhere. Das a good kittie.

Thanks Fin, I appreciate your support and trust in me. I know you don't BS around so I trust you too. I am insecure, very contrary to my usual approach to life, the past years have made me doubt myself.
Now the writers contest, I too am contemplating, I really like the subject, and I have an idea for a slightly different twist than the current entries. But I just can't get it flowing. I get too caught up in details.
You should write though.

... we have lots of coconut trees. Not a single rat.

I am curious about the connection between rats and coconuts, but that said my cats (plural) when I had four, where very laid back when it came to "rodent" control. Perhaps because they weren't originally feral? And I didn't really want them to eat them because they carry so many diseases. Many times they would present them as "presents" for me and once they put a live specimen by my pillow. I always fed them grandly after there courage's efforts and the remaining geriatric Angora at this point only cares for her "box", food, chastising the Rottie and sleeping on my head at night.

Gigi, the Rottie, just looks at her and barks in her face, which the cat can't hear because she is deaf. Gigi backs off sheepishly when she is whacked by the cat. As if she is saying " She is family, I just want to clean her ears"

As your partner will confess, a cat on ones head can become rather warm, but I will go find her if she is screaming and lost at night. I swear she has had Alzheimer's all her life. All done.
BTW hello Argentus such a pleasant visit.

Which I wish all of you, and hopefully it is lovely unless you are in the middle of some natural disaster.
It is my firm conviction to maintain a positive attitude.
Positive could just indicate that I am delusional.
I am (nasty word that violates every thing) tired of filling out applications, creating resumes, copy, paste, talk to people who don't give a turd about you.
BUTI am still better than I was before, and that is good very good. I am not compromising my integrity every day.
Must nap.

Ha! Cat hats! I had a tortoiseshell kitty that used to do that.

The most cats I had was 3 at a time, except for when I had two and was bottle feeding two. I kept one of those and found a good home for the other kitten.

Hey Wis, I had a Persian who was all white with blue eyes and deaf. We rescued her from the woods surrounding a mill where we worked. It was terrified of everyone and everything and was like a wildcat hissing and growling. It was the one and only time I was ever afraid of getting my ass kicked by a cat. She looked like she'd rather rip your face off than deal with you in any way. Yikes! I spent a lot of time with her.

I would at first keep her in the bathroom and would flick the lights on and off to alert her when I was coming and going. I would even lay on the floor near her without touching her at all so she would feel safe. One day I lay next to her and she purred. I smiled. I tentatively reached over to pet her and she allowed it. Victory!

Introducing her to our other two cats was another story entirely. She never did like them, but they gave her all the space she needed so she tolerated them as long as they didn't come too close.
