Smoky Junior Radio Tower, Mercury Nevada

If you ever drive north of Vegas on highway 95, you will eventually pass a "town" known as Mercury. Mercury Nevada has an interesting history and curious status today. I'm sure there is a thread on Mercury Nevada on ATS someplace. Could anyone who knows of this, please post it on this thread? I believe it would be interesting to read and provide some good background to my question.

When researching Mercury on google maps, I came across something called Smoky Junior Radio Tower. Feel free to discover the interesting reviews on it. Does anyone know anything about this? I couldn't even find this listed in Wiki... Is there a thread on it in ATS? I searched and couldn't find one.

If you know the location of Smoky Junior Radio Tower plug in GPS or Lat/Long into this search engine - Antenna Search.

If its not clandestine, it will be on there.

I just added what I could find on the radio towers. 2 towers from what I see on the map.
I never even saw them until your thread. Take some credit and find out more👍😉

ATS won't let me upload my Nevada map. ( stars of points of interests) just 38 or so..🤗
I grew up in Sparks. Worked all of northern Nevada as a flight paramedic. Seen some amazing things south of Fallon NAS. Or walker lake seems appropriate.

Retired now, PHRN Firefighter 3 ARFF.. gosh dang Nevada still baffles me👍😉

I am in state on vacation. Went to the firefighter's cemetery at Virginia City. I like things off the beaten path. Any recommendations?

I live off the grid about 3 miles from Angel Peak so that solved a huge mystery

Actually gariac would probably know more about it. I've never heard of it.
