But wouldn't it be just like history, if the first word out of the mouth of the first person to realize WWIII had begun was, "Whoops!"? You've really got to wonder about anybody that thinks there's a deep state or anybody actually in control. When you think about it, even the dark conspiracy is much too optimistic.

What could be objectively complimented, about a civilization that has allowed itself to be potentially annihilated, with an 'oops' flash in a microsecond?

Are we not all fools, being led by alpha-fools?

Reading that very last sentence was that moment of realization when it smacks you with the cold, hard truth. Spot on too.

Live missiles going to a training mission? Bad.

Self-destructing AMRAAM's? LOL

I don't know how euro fighters work, but an AMRAAM won't launch until it has radar lock.
So this dufus was playing top gun and forgot he had live muns. LOL

Flying a Desk next week!

More like flying a prison cell for attempted manslaughter of another pilot would be better since he had to been locked on.

Wrong. No other pilot has ever been charged. It's a training incident. It happens. If we put pilots in jail for incidents like this, we'd run out of pilots.

Maybe we would have less accidents if we punished them for making such stupid mistakes though. 2 weeks in the brig for negligence perhaps? No need to prosecute them though i guess.

So we string them up for doing what we train them to do. Hey there's a great idea.

He will get punished if it's his fault. Probably lose his wings. We just had a pilot demoted and lose his wings for not having a current flight plan.

He would have had to be pretty negligent. I've seen cases where they fired a missile that actually hit another aircraft and they didn't lose their wings.

Well there was the Navy guy who shot down an Air Force RF-4C and still made Admiral.

I forgot about that one. The big one that I remember was the one in Alaska that almost saw an F-15 shot down for the first time.

I was at Mildenhall when it happened. The Forrestal had pulled into Portsmouth and I took a few days leave. The RF-4 was based there. I was told to pack and was escorted off of the base by the Air Police. They apparently didn't want an incident.

All kinds of foul ups there. I didn't even know that it happened until I got back to the ship. I went to do some Genealogy research for my aunt. Took pictures of some tombstones and church records. I was a guest of an F-111 squadron. We saw their plane go down when we bombed Libya the previous year.

A 2 week stint in the brig isnt ending their career. they need to be held to a higher standard since they are in control of billion dollar equipment.

At the least he should get a desk and lose flying rights until he can get recertified.

Bull. No one would trust them again, and they'd never get into a cockpit again after. Funny how you want to hammer them for a minor incident. What do you want for a crash caused by pilot error? Public execution?

Thanks. If you've been a student of history to any real degree, it's a fact history is filled with the stupidest human folly, some of the worst in the 20th century, like a can of condensed dumb. In fact, your tin foil hat is a fearful, delusional creature, that needs to believe somebody is in control, because the fact that we are all inept clowns, on Bozo's bus, is much too scary to accept. People need to think all you need do is arrest a Rothschild or some such tripe, and everything will be fine. You've got Trump draining the swamp of everything from reptilian Freemasons to aliens to diabolical bankers, plotting from underground lairs.

Sorry. You're screwed. Fact is, your city could end as a going concern, because Putin and Trump need to prove which dog can piss in the tallest weeds. Your economy could collapse, because the cow was milked dry, or somebody killed and ate the golden goose, in a wine sauce. History is folly, on steroids, where people in control, over and over, have cooked their own goose, suppose that would be geese, so damned many of them. An incessant pattern of train wrecks does not make for an example of control, but far be it to even mention the real world, on the web.

MAnslaughter would fit or destruction of property depending on if there were deaths. SHooting a missile off shoudnt be considered a minor accident in my opinion, but thats why im not in charge of anything such as that or in a posistion where i could be. Just stating my view Zap.
