The three mothers of the 11 malnourished children found living in a filthy New Mexico compound were arrested and charged Sunday along with two men described as armed Muslim “extremists” after authorities raided the property in search of a 4-year-old boy.
“The message sent to a third party simply said in part, ‘We are starving and need food and water,’” Hogrefe said. “I absolutely knew that we couldn’t wait on another agency to step up and we had to go check this out as soon as possible.”

Moms arrested after 11 children found in 'filthy' New Mexico compound with armed Muslim 'extremists,' cops say

That's damn sad, Amalia NM is one of the most beautiful parts of New Mexico. It's a high country desert paradise.

There were 2 men that were also arrested. I did not know this was a "training" facility...

But I did notice how this NBC article used the opportunity to talk about a cache of guns. They specifically highlighted the AR-15 in their description of what was found:

They were living off of a few potatoes and a box of rice, surrounded by a cache of guns, including an AR-15 rifle, officials said.

Here's a bit more

The FBI began surveillance of the compound, although agents didn't have probable cause to get inside, Taos County Sheriff Jerry Hogrefe said in a news release after the raid.

A tactical unit was needed because the residents of the site were likely "heavily armed and considered extremist of the Muslim belief," Hogrefe said

Now...... HOW BOUT THEM BORDERS ???? my question is WHY if the FBI was Watching the place and there KNOWN Extremists WHY WATCH WHY WAIT????

Much insinuation in the story here.

No real charges other than an outstanding warrant and harboring someone with a warrant.

Not a real compound but more of a crap hole.

Glad they got the kids some food and possible more charges on that if they were really in distress.

The MSM never miss those opportunities. I was surprised there wasn't mention of "assault rifle" or "assault-style rifle"

At any rate, this story is apalling and I'm happy to hear
those 5 adults are behind bars and the kids are in protective custody

Where I agree that its terrible on many levels, I just have to chuckle at what theyre calling a "compound" = an old camper in a hole in the ground, covered with plastic.

I LOL at the people that think this is some kind of "Muslim extremist terrorist training camp" when it's a few black guys from Georgia, a gun or two, some potatoes and rice...

Sad for those kids, though. Glad they are going to be okay.
I had a girl I went to school with that had a brother that wasn't so lucky due to an extremist Christian paramilitary cult. He was three. They had plenty of food, guns, and ammo.

The last thing this story is about is The Right to Bear Arms and The Second Amendment.

I really do despair at some people.......

The BBC News report on the story stated that

Police searched the site after receiving a message from a third party that read: "We are starving and need food and water."

www.bbc.co.uk...

The important thing is now the authorities discover the whereabouts of the still missing 4 year old child.

I wonder how much income per child they were getting and who owned the land they were on.

They could have been homesteading it. AFAIK, homestead land in most states can't be touched by creditors like normal property ownership can succumb to.

How many belong to a Christian group that slammed 747s into occupied skyscrapers in NYC or jacked one through the side of the Pentagon? Huh? "Zero" you say? No Christian groups have ever done that? Well then, perhaps there's your damn answer.

I cant believe they released the women involved. They know the missing boy was there i think they should have kept them in custody until they found the boy. I have a bad feeling that 4 year old is either dead or close to it. The easiest way to find the boy was the women, since it was probably one of them that sent the message.
