A "No to Marxism" protest is under way in Berkeley, CA, with people already arrested for weapon possession.

Berkeley police arrest 10, seize several makeshift 'weapons' at start of planned protests

The police department posted photos of weapons they had seized on Facebook. They included a hammer, rocks, wooden sticks, metal rods, and canisters of pepper spray. “We are confiscating weapons and making arrests,” police said.

Well, I watched it for a couple of minutes and saw a hand full of people standing around watching two guys with an American flag between them yelling at one another. There were maybe a hundred other people both pro and con to whatever side one wants to focus on and most of them seemed to have phones or cameras recording it all.

Now that I have come over here and am only listening the only thing I can hear is some people chanting ''no walls'' and a drummer keeping beat.

Nobody mentioning Marxism, pro or con.

Opps the drummer has stopped and the chanters seem to be down to only a handful. Here let me go back to the visual

Nope, just a bunch of people, some chanting and most standing around watching. And no anti-marxists.

I'll move on now.

Awwwwww, what fun is a protest if you can't bring toys to attack other people?

Really don't both sides have anything better to do on a hot Sunday?

Counter-protestors were defending Marxism.

We are a nation that actually has the freedom to screw ourselves over forever.

Because it doesn't matter that Obama specifically wanted the power to detain American citizens, he was black, so that would be racist.

According to Sen. Carl Levin, who helped to craft this bill, not only did the President want the power, this administration was the one who demanded the power to detain U.S. citizens indefinitely be placed inside the bill

Why is the far left doing the bidding of the Koch Brothers? We live in such strange times.

Oh now, you really are going to have to explain that statement to dummies like me.
Are not ''far leftists'' supporters of Marxism? Is that not what they are by definition?? Arn't they anti-capitalist?
And are not the Koch Brothers staunch capitalists? Spending billions to further the ponzi scheme that is modern capitalism?

Help me out here.

All the mug shots at the link look like they could be domestic terrorists before the rally.

Geeze Louise, I wonder which side they were on

Has to be antifa... they're the only morons that show up in pantyhose masks and sticks/stones/edged weapons

Our people turn out in plates+lawfully owned & carried rifles, when there is a potential for violence due to the threat of serious harm/death. It is even worse since these groups have a history of violence, making excuses for violence (aka terrorism - violence with political goals) and inciting riots. Beyond that, the members of these groups take to social media and overtly express their intentions to commit acts of violence.

I thought the marchers would be pro-Trump since the Marxists are the fascists. This rally makes no sense to me.

I've seen extremists from both sides of the spectrum spewing some dumb s### the past few years at these protests.

Luckily both are minorities of Americans.

I believe the Kochs are now supporting Democrats as they desire the flow of cheap labor.

Only thing I see is rich pricks on either side, using everyone to keep their coffers full.

Sigh, politics is a facade theres only dialectics and ponzis

Dont be messing around now. Everyone knows that "high information voters" means stuff like:
-Whites are racist just because they're white.
-Minorities cant be racist no matter if they kill a white person for being white.
-100% of people who disagree, and are white, are therefore fascist nazi conservative nascar redneck bible thumping dogs.
-100% of people agree with this are totally not fascists, no matter what, not even like fascists, no matter what, and are anti-bigotry and pro-free speech (no matter what).

Sheesh!

Me either, they are everything they accuse us of

Yet we're the ones who have always defended the Constitution, upheld the rule of law and support a strong (but unobtrusive) government

That label above also includes the liberal/moderate democrats who are part of the true "silent majority." It is a minor element within their party trying to co-opt a major national party to service a fringe agenda

Sad folks are showing up to these events to commit acts of violence/assault/intimidation/harassment against their fellow citizens over something as petty as political differences. Good to see police are no-longer receiving stand down orders, letting them go in and do their jobs protecting any group or individual that chooses to lawfully assemble in a peaceful way
