What If?????????

You knew?

What if you had chosen a path in life that was less than perfect?.. But all that there is since has become something worthy of hanging on to?

What if all that you'd done in life was not as important as what you may do next?

How would you ever know?

What if you found someone who makes you feel like that kid you hate and adore.. the place you want to be again?

What if death was knocking at the door?

What would you do?

Having loved.. and learning to find that love again comes with respect for this life we all take for granted at times.

Don't ever let one day escape you... without understanding the meaning of that day and all that came before.. and be filled with the happy joy of the next day and what it may bring you.

Never find yourselves asking what if!

Because if you are reading this... you already have!

Life is short.. but sweet, it is the sweet part that can keep us here.. looking for more.. a quest to be in love and to be loved... everything else is just the stuff in between!

I wish I could take credit for this but the real source of this came from reality.. It came from deep within my soul.. so who do I really thank?

Maybe I should not have posted this in a fiction forum... because it is perhaps the most real thing I have ever written in my life.

But then again.. is that not the source if inspiration for all of us?

The face of death exposed now, and standing in the pit of defeat.. waiting for another chance to steal this life from me..... But no longer knocking at my door.

Love... was waiting and remains unexplored to fullness.. Today I find myself searching for new meaning.. another path.. Perhaps peace is much more near me now. A life complete?

Not a chance!!

I have more to say and do.... I will complete this life with knowing I have reached some new goals.. and having lived it all to the best I could.. where there is darkness I will find light.. where there was pain I will rise above it.. where there is love I will always be.

Yes.. Life is short indeed.. if you only knew how close I came you may better understand.

I have been through the worst this human condition can bring me so far.. faced the prospect of death, dealt with pain that no one should ever have to feel.. I have found the bottom and found the ways out... I stood just days ago on top of a red sandstone cliff 3,447 feet above a landscape that words cannot express.. Watched a sunset that only a God could create.. and then came to understand my condition and what I must do to live.

For me time seemed to stand still.. and all that was before vanished.. The future is calling.. and soon I will answer.

Where has the time gone?

Who cares?.. there is still some time left to enjoy this life!
