If the meeting comes to pass no doubt CNN and other news outlets will claim Trump is being played by someone much smarter than him and we will get endless news cycles telling us what we should know and believe because they have told us the real fake news truth..

I do not have any inside information... However I do believe part of all the war drums stuff are because Saudi Arabia and Israeli are egging on efforts to thwart anything and everything Iranian; in some cases probably rightly so.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday he would be willing to meet Iran’s leader without preconditions to discuss how to improve ties after he pulled the United States out of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, saying, “If they want to meet, we’ll meet.”
“I’d meet with anybody. I believe in meetings,” especially in cases where war is at stake, Trump said at a White House news conference when asked whether he was willing to meet with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

www.reuters.com...
Iran said in a tweet they want America to return to the nuclear deal that Trump/America pulled out of. I would say Iran (and unfortunately its people) should realize they are in a clear and present danger based on nothing else but the sanctions that are presently in place and the rumors of more to come. Inflation if what I have read is already hurting them big time ..

Iranian figures familiar with policymaking say, as a faltering economy and a sliding currency stir street protests, that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei could consider diplomacy with Washington and drink from “the chalice of poison,” a reference to the phrase used by his predecessor Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini when he reluctantly agreed to a U.N.-mediated truce that ended the 1980-88 Iran-Iraq war.

The White House clarified that Trump’s potential willingness to meet with his Iranian counterpart does not change his administration’s intent to ratchet up sanctions and rhetoric against Tehran with the stated goal of “seeking changes in the Iranian government’s behavior.”

I do believe talking is better than bullets and bombs. But again MSN and CNN will find some angle they can turn into a negative as their relentless attack on everything Trump leading up to the mid-term elections seems to show no abatement and will probably only increase..

I think it's a good thing that a responsible President will sit down at the table of any world leader and see what he can do to better our country.

Not just throw money at the problem.

This will be fodder for the left to try to drive his approval numbers down.

Everything they have tried so far has kept him out of the 50's... so they are not winning this soft civil war we seem to be having now. I think it is driving them batsnip crazy, as seen by the MSM's hyperbolic hysteria the last year.

So we have another 6 years of the economy getting better, foreign relations getting better, energy and military security getting better, the stock market up, less regulations, more Americans moving into the middle class.

The downside is the left's screaming, but honestly it has gotten to the point that it's just noise now.

Excellent OP... S&F

Iran wanted peace, Trump strong armed and muscled his way into Irans world. Just like him and Hillary were going to with Putin whether he liked it or not.

Politicians and oligarchs in the US want complete control of the world. They got a taste of it like a high dose of coc aine with NATO after WW2. Now look where it's lead us all.

Iran just wanted a few more cargo planes of unmarked money in different currencies.

I say Iran... I mean its current leaders.

The Iranian people need to fix that.

How does meddling in other nations affairs and interest help you as an American?

MAGA!

"Make America Great again!"

What do those words mean to you?

That was another great video simply because of Putin's words.

I may be lined up and shot at dawn for saying this, but Putin makes a heck of a lot more sense in what he says than way to many of our western politicians.

If it prevents war, I'm all for it.

Wouldn't you be?

Oh wait.

It's Trump.

Never mind.

War isn't just bound to bullets and dead bodies. Especially in today's world. It can be economical and intellectual and far more devastating and suffocating than you think.

Just because you don't like the answer does not mean I didn't answer.

Waste of my time. As always. Your logic never stimulates me enough to make an argument. Guess that's why you support Trump so zealously. Until next time...

Obama said/offered the same thing. But Iran's leadership didn't want to talk to Barack... just a few Billion dollars is all they wanted.

YUP.

Welcome to the internet new friend.

Did you just discover it or something? I hear it's full of BS, fake news, pepe the frogs, Reees, and all sorts of meme you can fall blindly into. Get a dose of reality for once in your life, the world revolves around more than you. Google what you want, and it'll benefit your ego.

How can supporting a no war policy and even a possibility of sanctions being lifted be anything negative and zealous ?

I do not care if it is a D or an R after their name as long as war is avoided.

Trueman *****For Iran it sounds like "This is your last chance". **** That crossed my mind also.. The flies in the ointment IMO are Saudi and Israel as far as positive movement toward peace.

If you enter into any negotiation openly weaker than your opponent, then you've already lost.
