I want to be remembered by someone, I want to inspire one other soul, to leave a lasting memory, a legacy, that is my goal! I have some silly poetry to share, why not here? I do not consider myself to be any kind of a poet or writer that the masses would adore, no delusions of grandeur, just a hope and dream to someday be published. I dabble in short stories for children and have had a few nibbles, nothing serious as of yet, but still I enjoy writing them and they occupy my fertile mind.

I would like to create this little tiny thread with my original poetry where every once in a blue moon I would pop in here with a new addition. Assuming something like that is allowed. Not even sure if it is possible, oh well, suppose I will find out eventually along the way! Perhaps a moderator will chime in, so here goes, the first installment:

Move Along They Said

Nothing to see here, move along they said;

The memory you have is just inside your head;

Get over it, let it go, be an adult, let it Blow;

Easy for them to say, let it fly, do not cry;

Did it happen to them, would it be different then;

When good things happen they matter more;

When bad things happen they matter no more;

Experiences shape the brain, mold it from clay;

They harden and soften along the way, sometimes they decay.

The Tree Whisper

As I wandered through the forest,
I heard a soft uncharted sound,
Everywhere a whisper of music,
As the falling leaves hit the ground,

They spoke of magic and the birth of the Sun,
For in their core they were old and wise,
Even the dead ones had something to say,
Walking on top of them was no disguise,

Rain and snow and animals galore,
The beauty of it all was a sight to behold,
Making sense of the tragedy that fire has to bring,
Devastation and starvation I have been told,

But out from the ashes many lives began,
A Phoenix with hope and promise a new,
Rebirth of a multitude was of the soul,
From the whisper of the trees a new generation grew.

What we see...

We see the colors of the trees,
The flowers bloom and the bees pollinate,
Rainbows from across the sky,
Snowy mountain tops rising from the clouds,
Beauty of the golden rays of sunshine;

Every baby born today be it animal or human,
Has that innocence so wonderful to see,
Their first little breaths a miracle of life,
Taken for granted the simplest things,
Can we stop the madness of the world;

Is it really so hard to see? The unbelievable?
Faith is believing what your eyes cannot see?
Love is invisible, Emotion is tangible, Can you see?
Hatred is inevitable, Greed is palpable, Can you see?
Vanity and lust have a lack of trust, Can you see?

That is all for today, if all is well, perhaps more will follow!

Ummm...if I may...

You have some very good lines and ideas here...

If you don't mind a little constructive critiquing I would say...rewrite and condense some of your verse...

In the first stanza of..."The Tree Whisper"...I noticed a slight change you might want to consider...

compare...

"As I wandered through the forest,
I heard a soft uncharted sound,
Everywhere a whisper of music,
As the falling leaves hit the ground,"

To...

As I wander through the forest
I hear a soft uncharted sound
Everywhere a whispered music
As leaves falling hit the ground

I try to have my lines flow into one another so that my rhyme has rhythm or cadence...

With that being said...I hope you don't mind my critique...I enjoy constructive criticism and don't seem to get enough of it...It helps me to improve and grow...Lord knows I could use some of that on a daily basis...

I'm glad you shared your short stories in poetic form with us...you have a strong grasp of rhyme...I look forward to reading more of your work...

Thank you

Hello, spirit, and thanks for sharing these with us. I'm sure the mods won't mind, they probably prefer a collection like this rather than a separate posting for each poem like, ah, I do...xD lol.

Anyways, I wanted to chime in to show you my appreciation. Your style is exactly what I look for in writing and poetry; a certain way of describing the ephemeral so as to excite the senses, as well as, so to speak, speaking the "hidden" sides of things, such as in your first poem.

May I suggest you join a poetry group, such as I have done. I found to be with like-minded creative poets not only helped me in learning different ways of creating poetry and verse, but also inspired me. As I am not sure that I can post the name of the group I sent you a personal email via ATS messaging.
