Rent it or own it-it is expensive to live.

Agreed, we recently replaced three patio doors, counter tops, all of the carpet and painted the interior of our home. It was a ton of work and a small fortune. The normal cost of maintenance but still enough to cover a wonderful vacation about anywhere in the world.

I did some more reading about this, and it turns out that rich people are building subdivisions in hopes of "trickling down" housing to the poor, but it actually results in increasing property values overall. In addition, these wealthy subdivisions are being built instead of affordable housing in some places, resulting in less affordable housing.
