Fantomas did a brilliant album of their version of various movie soundtracks.
Mike Patton, King Buzzo, and Dave Lombardo...how can it not kick ass?

So many bands who do cover versions, just do an almost exact copy. My thoughts are, if you are going to do a cover, then please, put your own stamp on it......(I think i've embedded the youtube videos correctly, if not a quick youtube search will bring results)

These are my top three. All great bands in their own right, if you haven't heard/listened to them, go and seek. You won't be disappointed.

1. 1966 ... Question Mark & The Mysterians - 96 Tears

Primal Scream 1997, B-side to Kowalski

2. 1982 ... Berlin - Metro

System Of A Down, Dracula 2000 soundtrack

3. 1967 ... The Doors - Alabama Song (Whisky Bar)

Viza 2012

I do like the purity of some bluegrass music.
Some styles literally grate on my nerves. I think it's a nasal singing style.
Others are just amazing. The second version is one of my favorites.

This is an old tune, but some great artists have done covers including the great cover queen Joss Stone.

The original .. Dusty Springfield.. Son of a Preacher Man

Both these women do a great cover of this tune.
