Rusky style lol

Honestly, your command of English is better than some English people I know. Russian looks really difficult, even the letters in the alphabet.
I wish I'd learned Spanish at school, I'd be living and working somewhere warm every winter for sure.

Living on this continent and mixing up so much got rid for the most part of my natural accent, and that makes me sad a little bit

But oh well I just have a way forward, anyways

Have to go to school now, have a nice afternoon guys!

Yes, study hard and put your phone down haha

I'm off out now to shout a mate and cheeky pint, catch y'all later.

Duty Solicitors - get called out to Police Stations at all hours and Legal Aid rates are a pittance so, no thanks. I'd love to help you out, but we'd both probably end up inside....

Now your'e in big trouble....

Haha!
To be fair I've usually done without a brief during police questioning, it's not rocket science to figure out if the Crown have enough evidence to get a successful prosecution.
Last time I was in such a situation I actually laughed in the recorded interview and said (In a fake cockney accent) "You ain't got nuffin on me copper" and "you'll be letting me out no further action before your 24 hours are up because the Crown will laugh you out of the office" - both cops actually laughed, it's just a game of cat n mouse.
(EDIT - One cop chuckled "So I assume you won't accept a caution either then?" and I laughed of course not)

...I'd heard that duty solicitor is a wretched role, do they choose it or is it part of initiation in a legal career?

EDIT AGAIN
For the record, the story above was a situation where my forehead came into contact with the forehead of an angry jumped up SIA badge guard. It wasn't caught on CCTV, no witnesses, so all they had was my word against his, and of course my side of the story was that he headbutted me.
Reasonable doubt is fantastic lol

Believe it or not, they choose to do it. It's not a part of an initiation or anything.

You're not Big Vern by any chance, are you?

No way! Who would choose to deal with drunks in police cells on Friday nights?!
...and haha no, Big Vern cannot articulate himself in a police interview as well as I can.

I really don't know why they do it. Yeah, Big Vern would probably not be very articulate in a police interview and that is of course if they could ever take him alive.

Pmsl! Big Vern would take 3 tasers to bring him down!
I've never been tased, I've always complied immediately when I've seen the red dot...I'm not stupid.
Only twice I've had one pointed at me though, both by Met Police. Devon and Cornwall constabulary are much more chilled out, and don't seem to chew furiously like they are roided up - as in the Met.

Did not find the pic but got sent one, unfortunately it had to be cropped to remove other people and also looks like it was taken with a potato, but so much fun that day

I find it funny that Mexican people love pictures like this and they took pics and were all laughing and asking for poses and other different pics, while other people not even related to the country will consider it offensive and lots of other things

Anyways, here it is, now i hope the Inquisition doesn't show up

Actually you would be surprised, Russian is very much like Spanish in several ways. For example, letters are mostly pronounced the same way they are written, same in Spanish, so once i learned the alphabet i knew how to pronounce any word, after that it was learning rules and learning more words, but it was easy to know how the words must be pronounced right from the beginning, i have 10 years of experience with Spanish but it took me about 3 years to be able to speak it normally

English took me almost 7 years but i still can't speak it naturally, i keep forgetting it, because i am very used to the other way where you see a letter and it is pronounced exactly as written, while on English for example letter 'u' in the word 'used' sounds like 'iu' and some people even use it as 'you' when they say 'u know' but in Russian and Spanish it would just be 'u' and not 'iu'. And the same thing with 'a' and 'e' and 'i', hard to keep track of when and where to making it sound one way or another

I wish I'd learned Spanish at school, I'd be living and working somewhere warm every winter for sure.

Except Brasil, never go there lol

Sounds like American politics stuff, what you said, pass!

It is cool to be Mexican, there's some freedom in a different way, like actually not getting killed because of being unable to raise your hands in the air while laying down on the floor while walking back to the cops while putting your hands in the head while kneeling down while you slowly walk backwards towards the officer.

I don't understand your comment about taxes but i would so much like if you stopped capitalizing every word, even for me who has English as a third language it's annoying. Also politics do not belong on this thread, as far as i know, from the thread OP and the rules he specified.

Also, that girl in the picture? Not me.. lmfao, i am not Mexican but if i can stay here for the next 5 years i will be able to apply for residence, then maybe apply for nationality, later on. Which if possible i will do

But again, as far as the politics bug. Pass!

Truth is complex, Lies are simple

I kind of would like an American coffee right now, if it's not too bothersome to get me one please. I heard Irish coffee is the best thing, but right now i would like some "freedom" flavored one. With "fake liberty" snacks if you don't mind

Good answer to the politics guy, yep it's banned in the cafe unless it is banter and pisstake.

Bang Bang amazing track and loads of remixes I like, this one is a favourite...

...movie night at the cafe would be cool, live rugby to watch for me today though, and 'freedom' coffee coming up, gonna have one myself haha

What language do you think in? Does it change depending on like posting English online or being in the local store?
I'd love to speak 3 languages

Sometimes, i watch a video or movie or read something and 10 minutes later i can't remember which language it was written/spoken on

I think i still think in Russian, but i feel like i spend a second or so translating it in my mind before i speak, to whatever language i need to speak

Some times i fails terribly, i speak a mixed thing like English/Spanish or Russian/Spanish or English/Russian on the same sentence, then i realize and look and everyone is looking at me like i'm crazy, what a shame i get from those moments.

But in the end, for the most part i first think it Russian, then translate and speak it or write it, and if i have to write fast or i'm very angry and just let go and write what i'm thinking it comes bad, very broken language ha ha

Like

English laugh: Ha ha ha
Spanish laugh: Ja Ja Ja
Russian laugh: Xa Xa Xa

All of them sound the same by the way lmao

English: Video
Spanisk: Video
Russian: видео but is sounds exactly the same "video"

But in Russian we kind of say "pass me sugar" or "hand me money". not quite but as an example, while you say "pass me the sugar" or "hand me the money"

And then we don't say it like that, we don't need "the" or similar

So i end up saying things like "you lose" or "You dumb" or "you fake" or "i don't have car" instead of "you are xxx" or "i don't have a xxx", kind of like that lmao

I don't think i can't explain well, it is so funny

Ah I totally get you!
My EU mates are the same, a Czech friend especially she doesn't use 'a' or 'the' and it doesn't matter because I know exactly what she means. Her best mate is from Slovakia and she speaks perfect English, you would think she was English, even got the local accent.
Czech friend still translates but Slovakian friend actually thinks in English now she tells me.
I find it fascinating.

I had a Mexican girlfriend for a couple of years and when she got emotional she would do the same, shouting a mixture of Spanish and English, I loved it to be honest!
Never be shamed for making mistakes, you should be really proud knowing 3 languages, I'm jealous a bit.
