But really without true education on what socialism is and a historical look at what it accomplished and destroyed people will treat it like the next best thing this is a dangerous precedent is the United States I've said it before and im saying it again AMERICA IS UNDER ATTACK the very values, traits and character that make capitalism and America great are under attack Starting from Kindergarten and seeping it's way right in to College's just take a look at some of the current course's being offered it's fairly prolific in the media and elsewhere aswell if you know what your looking at....educate your selves please....

Any way a bit of a long read but here are a few snippets with a link to the article:

There are 42 people running for offices at the federal, state and local levels this year with the formal endorsement of the Democratic Socialists of America, the organization says. They span 20 states, including Florida, Hawaii, Kansas and Michigan.

Her victory fed a flame that was already beginning to burn brighter. The DSA’s paid membership has hovered around 6,000 in the years before Trump’s election, said Allie Cohn, a member of the group’s national political team.

Last week, its paid membership hit 45,000 nationwide. There is little distinction made between the terms “democratic socialism” and “socialism” in the group’s literature“I don’t like the term socialist, because people do associate that with bad things in history,

Republicans, meanwhile, are encouraged by the rise of democratic socialism — for a far different reason. They have seized on what they view as a leftward lurch by Democrats they predict will alienate voters this fall and in the 2020 presidential race.

And we can start that education with the anti-socialists here who rail against it daily with no sense that they are believing the propaganda established by the capitalist system .

And if you ask me, one of the reasons it is surging is the representative that capitalism has put forward to run the country. Donald Trump. He is not a capitalist, he is a disaster capitalist, a cut and run capitalist. Long ago his daddy gave him a couple of million bucks and taught him how to scam the system with no more concern for the people he was exploiting. Borrow and bankrupt borrow and bankrupt, over and over. Find the loop holes and exploit them for his own personal gain.
Yeah, people are looking more closely now and are finding that if Trump is the best that the capitalist system has to offer then it is time to ditch it.

Whoa, who has socialism destroyed??? Capitalism is destroying much of the world, but socialist countries seem to be fine, unless you are trying that garbage of calling dictatorships like Cuba socialism.

I think it is you that needs some education, or should I say re-education?

Socialism begats fascism and that's why people are leaving the party.

And now you know why Trump is really there. The socialists have tried everything and it just wasn't working.....until Trump. They needed a clown like Trump to make anyone who opposes socialism seem equally clownish. If you don't want socialism, you must be one of those fools who voted for Trump.

NO. If you voted for Trump, you voted for him because he wasn't Hillary and you didn't have another choice. I seriously doubt Trump would have been ANYONE'S first choice if TPTB hadn't made damn sure he was the only choice unless you wanted another Democrat/socialist (same #ing thing).

As Democrats Panic Over "Rising Star" Ocasio-Cortez, "Abolish ICE" Beheads Fake Trump

www.zerohedge.com...

Establishment Democrats are starting to freak out over Democratic Socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez

The problem? According to CNN's editor-at-large Chris Cillizza, Ocasio-Cortez is far from ready to lead the party. And as you'll read below, the "Abolish ICE" movement she champions is now holding mock assassinations of President Trump.

All sorts of Democrats are sounding the alarm. They seem to get what Ocasio-Cortez’s pseudo-Marxist agenda represents for the party.

They range from the former speaker, Nancy Pelosi, to Congressmen Alcee Hastings of Florida (“meteors fizz out”) to Bill Pascrell of New Jersey (“she ain’t gonna make friends”), to name a few.

Few Democrats are marking Ocasio-Cortez’s denigration of Israel. -NY Post

Venezuela was toppled by crony capitalists at he head of state and taking way to much foreign interest in their oil. Basically taking on loans they could not pay off because they didn't have the skilled work force or infrastructure to make their ends meet. If they did, they would be swimming in money.

And what's wrong with Europe?

I agree. Voters were pushed to vote for Trump because too many people did not want Clinton. That goes for many people who consider themselves to be on the left. Sanders supporters could see the fraud she was and when he was pushed out just decided to hold to their principles and not vote at all.

The press treated Trump like a clown from the very beginning and rather than focus on the issues brought up in the debates focused on his buffoonery. Day after day he would call names and make fun of people. Once he had their attention he would salt and pepper his talks with far right talking points to give the appearance of ''being on their side'' so that he could get them to support him.

Both Clintons and Obama were not socialists, they were capitalists who supported the capitalist system. They supported Wall Street and the banks that control us. Hardly socialists at all but rather capitalists who sought to control the government through appealing to those who would liberalize cultural norms.

"Who has socialism destroyed ? "

Might want to start with Venezuela....

"I think it is you that needs some education, or should I say re-education?"
Because re-education camps were a good thing according to you, in the same sentence you ask who has socialism destroyed...

Socialism has never worked anywhere. It is the politics of jealousy, exposing its' proponents for what they are.

Deny ignorance....

It works in everyday society in the western world for a lot of nations. It literally obliterated the US socially and economically in the Vietnam war. What more do you want from socialist ideologies? They exists and are part of everyday life, yes it's been abused in the past, just like any economic and political system, but to be honest capitalism seems to be the root of a lot of the worlds problems right now. Not socialist ones.

If I owned my own company and told my employees i was going to give them a pay cut so I can afford to buy a boat, what do you think would happen?
if i told my employees I would give them all a raise because profits were good, what do you think would happen?

See the difference in a capitalist world and a world where, capitalism and socialism are embraced as one?

The more Trump supporters rant and rave against Democratic Socialism, the more appealing it looks to me.

If you all are this outraged about it, it must have some good points.

Certainly she is not ready to ''lead the party''. So just because this CNN editor at large suggests that anyone wants her to ''lead the party'' that they do want that? I would call that some ''fake news'' that conservatives are always bitching about . But for one problem. That ''fake news'' would be against a person who calls for more extreme changes, just like Trump does except this time those changes would be from the left instead of the right.

Could it be that CNN supports the status quo rather than any extreme move from right or left. CNN after all is first and foremost a capitalist enterprise.

Capitalism was never "Great" look at everything that has happened under "Capitalism" and the result of "Capitalism" people whine about Communism and Socialism being "Utopias" and hold Capitalism under this utopic paradise, it is not, it is oppressive.

You leave out the biggest factor in all this "destruction" is Dictatorship, and consolidation of power, which is not what Communism/Socialism advocates for. every country that is State-socialist has had a dictator in charge and monopoly of power

that being said, Democratic Socialism is not the same as Socialism, Bernie was the leading force in igniting the Democratic Socialists as a "party" and they have used it and this Anti-Trump stance and media coverage to boost their numbers by having the protests that Liberals will go to

Yes, we will all be equal (except the political class who will be above everyone else).

Equally broke and miserable.

Note: DSA Leadership has publicly endorsed Communism as well.

Like spelled in the 14th amendment.
