As the article shows, the worlds first organized, dominant religion in civilization history was worship of the goddess.

It seems like the original set up for religious worship was to worship the divine feminine principle, for it maintained balance and harmony in society. There was no male ego to corrode in the seat of power, rather it was the softer feminine spirit that took the position of power as a way to naturally balance out the equation.

The ancient texts then show how an ancient war happened between the solar and lunar cults where the solar powers eventually overthrew the lunar (feminine) and then monotheism became the status quo. This caused mass division and made conquering and controlling easier over the next thousands of years.

A lot of those I can tell at quick glance are little handheld carvings. One such uber ancient piece is featured in me The Darkest Patterns. Dudes carving up big breasted figurines doesnt inherently mean they were fertility goddesses. That'd be like saying so many men today (like all of us lol) worshiping big boobs (even big fake boobs) its because of fertility goddess. Without reading the words I'd wager that piece itself is fertility goddess propaganda.

Conversely, the original temples all have bull worshipping sacraments / effigies / etcs, typically in grandiose form. Such as Gobekli Tepe. From there until the Catholic church the Bull is featured essentially everywhere, every civilization had it. Which makes sense as shrooms grow from cowpies. Now go back and take a better look at those pillars in Gobekli Tepe... many of them are shrooms themselves!

Many people believe the bible is a book written and altered by men
I wonder why no one ever questions these types of discoveries

Paganism is about worshiping mother earth, nothing really new here
Also don't believe it was the first religion, what's the evidence outside of assumption

Look up Animism. I see it as the basic human thought pattern, a natural sort of conceptualization humans innately are compelled towards, before sophisticating more and more 'proper' religious mumbo jumbo. Take a bunch of humans, erase their memories / reset their brains, drop them isolated out in the wild, and they'll end up Animists. Especially once they find themselves some mind altering plants lol. Which they will. And they'll do them. Eventually they'll figure out writing and will be about the same place everyone else was when they started writing. All of their religiousy concepts will have been codified into psalms of social control; the languge itself will be a tool made specifically for social control; by the elites who will have them build pyramids because that's their vision of society (with themselves as the gods at the tip of the pyramids)[I suspect is was mind altering plants that helped them sort all that out which has happened universally]. And thus The Pattern of humanity will repeat once again.

There was no male ego to corrode in the seat of power...

This mindset is unfortunate. To label all men as corrosive does a disservice to men and women.

...rather it was the softer feminine spirit that took the position of power as a way to naturally balance out the equation.

I would never classify the mother of my daughter as soft or softer. That woman is so strong in character that she makes diamond seem talcum soft.

All that being said, perhaps it was the elevation of one sex over another and the promotion that all others are "inferior" that resulted in the religious upheaval that was suggested.

Perhaps a mindset that all people have the potential to be kind and caring; as well as, rude, crude and vile would have helped.

Perhaps understanding that we all have something to offer that can benefit not only ourselves, but others would have helped.

Perhaps if we took a moment to learn from history, we wouldn't see the same pattern repeating.

Maybe we just need to start showing a little more care and compassion on all sides.

To that end, thanks for making this post and giving me an opportunity to make these statements.

That's pretty ignorant, guess blissfully ignorant
Nothing you say is logical

I know what animism is, I doubt your answer addresses my question in any way
Thanks

Why worship something to only bring the supposed best of us out? Why?

It's weak. Feeble minded.

If you cannot find something in yourself to cherish and to be good, and you need something to worship in order to find it, you are pathetic.

The human species is pathetic.

Its what completely ignorant humans out in the wild staring into the fire while on mind altering plants do. Universally. Its in our DNA. No anthropologist would say it isnt, bet.

Not all humans take drugs
Not all humans are completely ignorant

Universally we are not all the same
I don't think it's in our DNA and I have seen no evidence to suggest it is in our dna

Imitation a sign of flattery, a predominant belief in some monotheistic goddess creator, changed into a dominant monotheistic masculine creator god.

Hinduism is said to be the oldest of any religion today, and Kali which stands for time or black is a key figure. Although not a creator god, she will definitely be the end of it, wether she the whore or the rider in revelations.

And the Adam and Eve story could be older then the o.t, since they only use certain parts of the story apparently. Lilith was made before Adam, then there was Eve, and yet no mention of the serpent and it origins.

A couple of more extensive sources and fascinating reads:

"The Alphabet vs the Goddess" by Leonard Shlain

"The Chalice and the Blade" by Riane Eisler

The first is a linguistic approach and the second a sociological.

Engrossing subject. Thank you.

It does. Their answer addresses what the OP is harnessing too. Animism is the easts version of the West’s reverence of Mother Earth. In my opinion. Just different trappings l, mentally and aesthetically

I took a couple classes in college, one was the Return of the Great Goddess, another was the Decline of Magic and Rise of Science in recent history. (Hundreds if not thousands of years). Lots of interesting reads by Jung, Campbell, etc. nothing that’ll make me a million, but I’m a better person for having my little mind opened further

What really got me turned onto philosophy was a community college class called Eastern religions and perspectives.

What I got outta that is eastern views are much more holistic and concerned with the here and now. More so a way of being/living. Western is doom, gloom, and control

Goddess worshipping cultures like nature worshipping culture are not mono-theistic.

Said by who(m)? Precursors of Hinduism may have the oldest written record but I'd hesitate to say that it is the oldest religion extant today without research and SOURCES.

All scriptural stories are retellings of older stories - SPUN for a purpose and contemporary populations.

"Re-imagined Religion"

It's more etnocentrism to decide that white peoples paganism was the ur-religion for everyone else.

In Semitic culture, the moon God is Male; "Sin" in paleo west Aramaic

In Japan, the sun is female and the moon is male.

Nut was the Egyptian sky goddess

Even among indoeuropeans, the Balts worshipped a sky Goddess as supreme deity. Debesu tevs.

The universalizing of I.E. Gender roles by projecting them onto other cultures religion went out with the anthropology of the Victorian era

Mind altering substances have been part of human culture for eternity. Hell even 5000 years ago the first civilizations already drank beer all day long. From Babylon to the Wild West they did. Caffeine plants. Poppies. Cannabis. Mushrooms. Etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.... Entheogens galore humans have always used. This would go double for savages bored out in the jungle.

And humans always start as savages. Eventually they get writing. Before that its all oral tradition. And those humans are ignorant. They what we would call 'worship' nature. They worship their ancestors. They think in cycles, instead of time. They have shamens (witch doctors). Eventually shames are replaced by doctors, priests and scientists.

This stuff is universal its in all of the anthroplogy everywhere human savages had a go at existing, sort of thing.

Universally humans did the same thing from Africa to Europe to India to China to North America to South America we all did the same thing, went thru the same cultural evolution, the elites made writing and used it for social control, and had their sheep build them pyramids, and on and on until the Old World conquered the New Word and here we all are. The same.

Its in The Darkest Patterns. We're all the same, albeit we have many flavors, but in groups ESPECIALLY we act the same we did the same things............ Its why we all have religion in the first place (even the Atheists lol). Why we're all tribalists. This 'its why we...' list goes on and on in all the things that are innate to our species, because its in our DNA, its instinctual.

And to adamantly deny human nature is the most ignorant posturing there is.

Well if they were retelling of old tales, which takes of the scriptures could we be talking about?

I am assuming that it's the oldest because of said fossils, but those rememants could be 60000 years old, but if that's culture or a religion with natural order of things... that I will never tell.

And yes I accept that those rememants might not have no revelance to modern Hinduism at all.

Why not just call Judaism, Babylonian or Sumerian( I can never really tell the difference), and Christianity Greek and Judaism.

Yep. Depending on which rabbits you like to chase down holes, I’ve come across multiple accounts that suggest the Apple in the Bible, is actually Mario’s favorite, white dappled, plump fire-engine red mushroom muse, the fly Agaric, or Amanita Muscarita.

Think about how pissed God would be if humans ate something he made, only to have their blinders removed and challenge his authority. Original Sin indeed
