Something like that imo. *If* Assange had anything truly momentous he'd have to release it or be a hypocrite. A man with his professed values wouldn't withhold evidence of serious corruption to save himself. I think he was bluffing.

On a side note, I also think he lost his white knight credentials when his leaks became partisan.

And when he refused to answer the accusations of rape. Too many men escape rape and sex assault, especially celebrities. Assange is a prime example of hiding behind power and politics to escape crimes against women.
