The Mengenlehreuhr (German for "Set Theory Clock") or Berlin-Uhr ("Berlin Clock") is the first public clock in the world that tells the time by means of illuminated, coloured fields, for which it entered the Guinness Book of Records upon its installation on 17 June 1975. Commissioned by the Senate of Berlin and designed by Dieter Binninger, the original full-sized Mengenlehreuhr was originally located at the Kurfürstendamm on the corner with Uhlandstraße. After the Senate decommissioned it in 1995, the clock was relocated to a site in Budapester Straße in front of Europa-Center, where it stands today.

Source

Mengenlehreuhr was officially activated on June 17, 1975, but try as I might, I can't find the time of day when it was first turned on. I'm hoping that someone here might be able to help me find a source. I had hoped that Guiness World Records would have included the time of day as well, but no luck.

Can anyone in the ATS community help point me in the right direction?

Why would the time of day when it was first turned on matter?

Here is a video (in german) showing the installation (00:25-00:58): www.youtube.com...

The time and date of activation is important for a project I'm working on.

So far, that's the closest time I've gotten for when it was first turned on.

Thank you!

What's that in German?

Halb hinter dem Arsch des Affen, Viertel zu seinen Bällen.
And then, there's this.

Are you thinking the time of day might be the key to solving the Kryptos ?

When they first started tearing down the Berlin wall the clock read 4,2,9,0 for 10:45 PM.

The design of the clock will be an important link someday when they get around to disclosing it.
50 year old esoteric puzzle so not much motivation for newbees to read very deep.

This is interesting to read. I've never heard of this clock.

Dieter Binninger dreamed this clock idea up back in 1973 and it should explain a lot from the German side of the story.

Once the Kryptos puzzle is solved there will be some interesting history disclosed.

X-files writers such as Rob Bowman liked this puzzle.

Max Fenig of X-files fame passed away back in 1997 in the Tempus Fugit episodes 4X17 and 4X18.

Or went insane listening to the Faulkner demons.
