As AllSeeingEye states below, it deflates the issue.

Not only does it deflate the issue with respect to Trump paying McDougal to stay quiet, but it also deflates the main contention that they are trying to burn Trump on with the Stormy issue and this one.

They are trying to show that the Trump campaign paid for this (illegal), versus Trump just paying out of pocket (legal).

The tape would've remained unreleased going by the judgement of the reviewer who said it would be priviledged, and cannot be entered into evidence.

That would be bad because the left would scream that there was evidence of guilt, when the tape does not show evidence of guilt. So Guliani, through his account of what was on the tape, killed the priviledge so it: 1. No longer hangs as a secret to be used in the news cycle as ammo against POTUS, and 2. The tape shows that Trump was giving instructions to make the payment in a way that was above board, killing the campaign finance issue.

There's one issue that no one is discussing. New York is a one-party consent state. From the article, it doesn't sound like Trump was aware of the recording by Cohen. But as long as Cohen consents (obviously he did), it would be OK. The question is, where was Trump during the call? If he was on the campaign trail in a two-party consent state, Cohen could be facing wiretapping charges on top of all the other things he is alledged to have done. It could get interesting from that perspective.

What's new with the Supreme Court case to unseal the indictments regarding Pennsylvania Clergy abuse case? They are desperate to keep that under wraps.

Cambria County Court of Common Pleas Supervising Judge Norman A. Krumenacker III said in his ruling that there is "no material protected by grand jury secrecy contained in the Office of Attorney General's Redacted Brief. The brief may be filed as a public record at the discretion of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court."

So it's in the hands of the PA Supreme court, the court which has 8 of 9 members receiving campaign donations from the lawyers defending against the ruling.

I'm not getting my hopes up.
