Sacha Baron Cohen’s ‘Disabled Vet’ Demands Apology From ‘Fake News’ Sarah Palin

I think he’s right. For Sarah to criticize a veteran of the service is appalling and he deserves a public apology from Vice-president Sarah Plain.

In a long Facebook post this week, Sarah Palin admitted that she had been “duped” by comedian Sacha Baron Cohen for his new Showtime series Who Is America?, called him “evil,” “exploitive” and “truly sick,” and challenged him to donate the proceeds to pro-veterans charities. Today, she got her response.

As his new character Dr. Billy Wayne Ruddick Jr. PhD, founder of TruthBrary.org (as opposed to LIEbrary, get it?), Baron Cohen submitted this official letter, addressed to “Vice-President Palin.” Dr. Ruddick explained that he did not claim to be a “War Vet,” as Palin said, but rather said he was “in the service—not military, but United Parcel.” He added that he “only fought for our country once—when I shot a Mexican who came onto my property.”

After praising Palin for “TELLING THE TRUTH about Obama’s birth certificate and the location of Russia,” he accused her of “bleedin’ FAKE NEWS.”


“You used to hunt the most dangerous animals in the country, like wolves and people on welfare,” he wrote. “So why hunt a fine citizen journalist like myself?” The letter ended with the words, “I DEMAND an APOLOGY.”

Fraud?

He's probably one of the smartest people in Hollywood, does tonnes of charity work and personally I think he's hilarious. Yeah his comedy is based on trolling people bit I find it a refreshing way to raise awareness on issues society face.

Can't really fault him tbh, I certainly wouldn't call him vile.

I get that, but I don't see anything funny in disrespecting veterans, and lying to score political brownie points. Rea humor, sure, and I can even laugh at things some might find offensive, but he was being a real jerk, and pretending to be a veteran, while at the same time insulting to veterans. I can laugh at stereotypes, as far as that goes, but this wasn't done in fun.

Never heard of him before this incident. Don't care to see him now. Mocking veterans isn't my idea of humor. Military jokes? Sure; they can be funny. What he did, I don't see as funny. How does pretending to be a disabled veteran, and making all sorts of outrageous comments about guns, strike anyone as "humor"? I just don't see that as funny. Did watch a video recently, of a fellow talking of an outing with military guys he knew. Done in jest, and some hilarious material, but he wasn't trying to be demeaning. This Cohen guy was. With real disabled vets being treated like crap by the VA, labeled as "potential terrorists" by the previous administration, etc, what this guy did was indeed vile. Demanding an apology, after that? I'd love to tell him to his face what I think of his behavior.
