Will there a sequel to Independence Day:Resurgence where the Harvesters are defeated and their trail of planetary destruction ended or is the Independence Day franchise pretty much dead after Independence Day:Resurgence flopped at the box office?

Screw Will Smith for not being in the movie.. IMO Independence Day is a top 10 all time movie.

And for Will Smith to not take the role in the sequel was just ... well screw him lol..

Well, they sure set up for one. I hope they do, I really enjoyed the movies!

God I hope not, that scene with the school bus at the end was too ridiculous. They've already ruined too many franchises from my childhood.

A sequel to one of the most boring (because far too easy foreseeable) movie? Please no.

But when did Hollywood listen to internet forums?

The original was corny crap (didn't help having a group of Americans whoop whooping and cheering all the way through at the cinema, we are British we don't do that) and the sequel was utter utter garbage I can not remember one scene.
Much better alien invasion movies out there than ID.

That movie was a turd.
Lousy acting.
Poor story.
Forced diversity.
So bad that I don't really remember much about the movie thank goodness.

I hope not I.D. 2 was terrible!

If there was another sequel to ID...next lead actor I predict will probably be....

Yeah if they're not going to do a third movie I hope at least a novel is written that ties up the story so far.
