anyone get into this?
ive been on it for a couple weeks. i like it. not sure if i am getting the energy some talk about but i honestly dont know if i would notice anyway.

anyway if you eat cereal or something for breakfast you are going to get a lot of carbs so you are going to get a lot of sugar.

a lot of people on keto diets and people that do the intermittent fasting drink this coffee in the morning.

so brew your coffee
a tablespoon or so of grass fed butter
a couple teaspoons of coconut oil

put it in the blender for 15 seconds or so and thats it

the idea is the coconut oil is heavy in MCT so it gets the brain going and the grass fed butter is a nice little dose of healthy fats to get you a little spike of energy and to get the body going.

it winds up being slightly creamy. its very good

ever try it

TST...man you're on a whole other level. Where I'm sitting butter doesn't eat...anything!

It may be worth a try, I tend to like my coffee black though.

Oh! The butter comes from the cows...that eat the gr.. ah, nevermind.

I'm trying to envision what oil and coffee would taste like. I can't imagine so I think I'll try it. Especially if it cuts the coffee intake.

its good man
taste is close to black coffee to me

the butter and the oil lightens it a touch and gives it a creamy aspect.. not too much though. very slight

has to be coconut oil and has to be grass fed butter though. to be legit

i have a little mini pot and i make 3 cups. thats it for the day

I bet the butter and coconut oil gets more than your brain going. I'm willing to bet bathroom runs are especially epic.

Considering butter is over whipped cream, it makes sense.....it's hard to find anything up here labeled as grass fed, except the stuff that is $7 for half pound.....but I do put some coconut oil in my coffee often, just a half teaspoon with a couple of drops of stevia.

Then I also have to include a lot of olive oil in the rest of the day, my doctor complains about my cholesterol, so I push up the good cholesterol to counteract the bad. I don't believe in statins.

www.foodrenegade.com...

Any of those sold near you?

We use Kerrygold regularly.

There should be a farmer near me somewhere that might know better, they're mostly old fellows. The beef around here is mostly grass fed, I just need to find a dairy farmer.

So it's just an increase in energy?
Brain function as well?
Not sure what it's about, never heard of it

The Mongolians are centuries ahead of us on this.

It's just a variation on butter tea, which is also very tasty.

I'll try your recipe though. Sounds wonderful.

Re: sources for Kerrygold, I think Kroger affiliates sell it and I've also seen it at Meijer.

I've never been to Aldi, but that's a possible source as they have a rather unusual/exotic inventory. I get their ads all the time.

This cracks me up. The keto diet (basically no fruits or veg and low or no carbs) whacked out your numbers so you switched to another diet that excludes whole foods groups (now only grains and veggies).

Is it really a great idea to be on any diet that wxcludes entire food groups (good sources of certain nutrients) and has you only eating a few nutrient sources?

Moderation and balance....

I've never tried the butter coffee thing but it does sound yummy, especially since I love anything coconut. It does seem like it could be a good source of energy if you don't have time to eat a real breakfast. A friend of my sister has been on the butter coffee thing for several months now and has lost a LOT of weight so far. She drinks two cups of the butter coffee in he morning, then does a salad for lunch and then whatever she wants for dinner. I suspect the weight loss comes from restricting lunch to just a salad, and not doing a heavy ass breakfast in the morning, but she swears that the butter coffee gives her energy for miles and that she doesn't get hungry until well into the afternoon.

Forgot to add, my sister swears by everything coconut, but I'm very leery of the levels of saturated fat in them.
